About
or The Son by Chance
Farce in one act (1813)
Libretto by Giuseppe Maria Foppa
based on Le Fils par hasard, ou Ruse et folie by René de Chazet and Maurice Ourry
The autumn opera season at the Teatro Filarmonico opens with another Verona premiere: the one-act farce Il Signor Bruschino.
Of Rossini’s works written for Venice at the start of his dazzling career, this is perhaps the most hilarious comedy of misunderstandings, involving real and imagined children, and a wedding that must take place.
Rhythm, melody and a dash of nonsense also feature in this new production from the Teatro Coccia in Novara.
IN-DEPTH TALK open to the public with Davide Annachini, on Thursday 21 October at 6 pm, in the Sala Veranda at the Accademia Filarmonica di Verona.
