By Car

A4 Serenissima Milano-Venezia motorway, exiting at Verona Sud.

A 22 Brennero - Modena, reaching the junction with the A4 towards Venice with exit at Verona Sud.


When you get off the motorway exit, follow the sign saying 'all directions' and then the one for the city centre.

By Bus

The Arena di Verona can be reached using the ATV public bus service network, from the surrounding municipalities, Lake Garda and all parts of the city.


ATV's Opera Bus Service Arena - Lake Garda is operational for the duration of the Festival: 

The return transport service from the Opera to Lake Garda is operated by ATV with Opera Bus Service, a bus departing 30 minutes after the end of the Opera and reaching all municipalities on Lake Garda from Castelnuovo to Malcesine.

Reservation of the service is compulsory and tickets can be purchased online by clicking here.



From Lake Garda

You can reach Verona using the following bus lines, with bus station in Piazza Bra, opposite the Arena:

LINE 164 (Garda - Bardolino - Lazise - Peschiera - Verona)

LINES 163-185 (Garda - Bardolino - Lazise - Verona)

LINES 483-484 (Malcesine - Brenzone - Torri del Benaco) with change at Garda with LINES 163-164-185

The bus station is located in the forecourt of the Verona Porta Nuova railway station.

Urban Service

The Arena is also served by the urban lines 11-12-13-51-52 and public holiday/evening lines 90-92-94-96-97-98 (stop in Piazza Bra).Other lines run in: Piazza Cittadella 30-73, Castelvecchio (walking along Via Roma, about 500 metres) lines 21-22-23-24-31-32-33-41-61-62-91-93-94-95.

The bus station is located in the forecourt of the Verona Porta Nuova railway station.

From Park Centro

It is possible to reach the Arena from Park Centro by taking line 77 (operates every 10 minutes) for €1.00. At the end of the performance, buses will take spectators back to the Park Centro free of charge.

By train

The main railway station is VERONA PORTA NUOVA, at the junction of the Milan – Venice and Brenner – Rome railway lines.

There are connections with all the main Italian railway stations throughout the day with various types of trains: through trains, Intercity, Eurostar and DB trains.

Approximate journey times by high-speed train: from Padua 45 minutes; from Vicenza 25 minutes; from Venice 1 hour and 10 minutes; from Milan 1 hour and 20 minutes; from Rome 4 hours and 10 minutes or 2 hours and 50 minutes without change. From the station you can access buses to the centre, with a stop in Piazza Bra, the central square where the Arena Amphitheatre is located.

The lines to reach the centre are: 11, 12, 13, 51, 52 and holidays/evenings 90-92-94-96-97-98.

By plane

Verona Villafranca’s Valerio Catullo Airport is approximately 10 kilometres southwest of the city centre. Various airlines, including Air Dolomiti, fly to Catullo Airport.

shuttle bus service runs between the airport and Porta Nuova railway station. The bus stop is in front of Porta Nuova railway station.

Brescia Montichiari’s Gabriele D'Annunzio airport, 52 km from Verona, is also connected twice a day with Verona Porta Nuova railway station by a shuttle bus service. The bus stop for this shuttle service is also in front of Porta Nuova railway station.
