Galeano Salas

Praised for his “golden-hued” voice, Mexican-American tenor Galeano Salas earned degrees from the University of Houston and Yale University, as well as an Artist Diploma from the Academy of Vocal Arts. A member of the Bayerische Staatsoper Opernstudio for two years, he further refined his training at the Santa Fe Opera, Central City Opera, and Wolf Trap Opera Company in the United States.

He won both the Grand Prize and the Audience Award at the Éva Marton International Singing Competition. Additional accolades include the Grand Prix and Audience Choice Awards at the 3rd Éva Marton International Singing Competition in Budapest, as well as first prizes at the Stella Maris International Voice Competition, the 28th Concours de Chant de Marmande, the 6th Alfredo Kraus International Singing Competition, and the First Prize at the Gerda Lissner Foundation International Voice Competition 2016.

He made his debut at Verona's Teatro Filarmonico during the 2022 Opera Season in La Bohème and returned in 2024 for La Rondine. That same year, he made his Arena di Verona debut, taking part in the gala concert The Great Italian Opera Heritage of Humanity.

For the 102nd Arena di Verona Opera Festival, he performed in La Traviata, Rigoletto, and Nabucco. In 2025, he returned to the Teatro Filarmonico for Verona's first-ever performance of Puccini's Le Villi.

During the 2025/26 season, he appears in productions of La Bohème in Modena, Rigoletto at Teatro alla Scala and in Copenhagen, Le Villi in Verona, Roméo et Juliette in Trieste, Carmen in Seoul, and Nabucco and La Traviata at the Arena di Verona as part of the 103rd Opera Festival 2026.
