The world tour

In view of the 100th Arena Opera Festival, Fondazione Arena has organised an international tour that began in the capital of Romania and will continue until May 2023 with 10 events worldwide. True to its vocation to promote Italian culture in the world, Arena di Verona has always been an accessiblepopular and universal home to musical theatre, but also a venue that is very dear to international stars, personalities and spectators as well as a powerful location of art’s inclusiveness.

Anticipation is high for the 2023 Opera Festival at the Arena di Verona, which will mark the 100th season. An event that has attracted countless spectators from all over the world every year since its first edition in 1913 and was only interrupted by the two World Wars and the pandemic. A resource for the city and the Region, thanks to the revenue from related activities generated each year, which is estimated to be around 500 million euros according to university studies.

The 100th Arena Verona Opera Festival 2023 will take place from June 16th to September 9th, with 50 evenings that alternate eight opera titles, four galas and, for the first time, an extraordinary concert with the Orchestra and Chorus of Milan’s Teatro alla Scala. The inauguration is entrusted to a new production of Aida, which will be followed by the richest and most diverse program in the history of the Festival, bringing together the most popular opera productions of the last twenty years and some of the finest artists on the international opera scenario.
