Francesca Maionchi

Francesca Maionchi was born in 1994 and obtained her Bachelor's degree in Opera Singing from the Mascagni Musical Institute in Livorno under Graziano Polidori and her Master's Academic diploma from the Frescobaldi Conservatory in Ferrara under Cinzia Forte, with highest honors. She then specialized with Perla Trivellini, Alida Berti, Jerzy Artysz, Marco Balderi, Augusto Fornari, Bruno Nicoli, Simone Tomei, Marco Scolastra, Rosa Feola, Angelo Gabrielli, and Sergio Vitale.

She has established herself in important competitions, winning the First Prize "Dino Formichini" for best voice at Open Opera 2017; the First Prize (Youth Section) at the Arturo Toscanini International Opera Competition; the L. Spezzaferri 2019 Prize in Verona; and the Second Prize at the Boris Martinovich International Voice Competition.

She made her debut in 2016 as Lola in Cavalleria Rusticana. She subsequently performed: Mimì in La Bohème at the Teatro del Giglio in Lucca, and for Sky Arts International; Micaela in Carmen in Arona and La Spezia; she made her debut in the Golden Hall of the Musikverein in Vienna with arias and duets from La Bohème, Gianni Schicchi and La Traviata; Mozart's Requiem in Sarzana, Livorno and Lucca; Suor Angelica in the role of Suor Genovieffa in Lucca; Le Nozze di Figaro at the Teatro Duse in Bologna; recitals in Lithuania, Riga, Al Ula in Saudi Arabia, Katowice, Forte dei Marmi, Montecatini and Tampere with Bocelli; La Traviata in Pisa, and Il Trovatore in Lucca. She took part in a tour of Norway, Denmark and Scandinavia alongside Andrea Bocelli.

In the concert repertoire, she is a soloist in the Petite Messe Solennelle at the Verdi Festival in Parma; in the Coronation Mass in Salsomaggiore, Parma and Brescia; and in Fauré's Requiem with the Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto in Padua and Rovigo.

Since her debut in 2022 at the Arena di Verona, she has returned in subsequent editions in the roles of Annina (La Traviata), the High Priestess (Aida) and the Countess of Ceprano (Rigoletto). She sang in Fauré's Requiem and in Die Zauberflöte. In 2025 she was in the cast of Elektra at the Teatro Filarmonico.

She is on the stage of the Veronese amphitheatre once again in 2026 for the 103° Arena di Verona Opera Festival.
