Buratto Eleonora

Eleonora Buratto emerges on the international opera scene as “the most precious and complete soprano produced by the Italian school in recent years” (Il Foglio). Considered a reference interpreter in the repertoire ranging from bel canto to Puccini, her career has developed gradually but relentlessly, starting as Creusa in Demofoonte under the direction of Riccardo Muti up to the roles that for some years now have seen her as a protagonist in the most prestigious theaters in the world.
Her engagements for the current season include Idomeneo at the Wiener Staatsoper, Madama Butterfly and Micaela in Carmen at the Bayerische Staatsoper, the world premiere at the Teatro Dal Verme in Milan and simultaneous recording for Decca of Umberto Giordano's rediscovered early opera Marina, her debut as Leonora in Il Trovatore at the Staatsoper Hamburg, Amelia/Maria in Simon Boccanegra in concert form in Munich and Budapest and fully staged at the San Francisco Opera, where she also makes her debut opening the new season. In the spring of 2026 she also takes part in the tour with Verdi's Requiem conducted by Daniele Gatti leading the Sächsische Staatskapelle Dresden (Philharmonie de Paris, Palau de la Música in Barcelona, Musikverein in Vienna, Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg and Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid) and in the show “Campioni del mondo - Italia loves Unesco” at the Arena di Verona, broadcast live worldwide on Rai 1. She returns once again to the stage of the Veronese amphitheatre for the 103° Arena Opera Festival.
Among her most successful recordings are Rossini's Messa di Gloria conducted by Antonio Pappano (ICMA Award and Abbiati Prize), Tosca conducted by Daniel Harding, and the solo CD Indomita.
She is a Cavaliere della Repubblica and winner of the Abbiati Prize for “Best Singer 2021”.
