Abramo Rosalen

After graduating in organ performance, Abramo Rosalen began his career as a singer. His theatrical debut took place at the Venice Biennale in the contemporary opera BIG BANG CIRCUS by Ambrosini.

He has performed at Italy's leading opera houses (Teatro alla Scala, La Fenice, Arena di Verona, Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari, Teatro di San Carlo in Naples, Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Teatro Regio in Turin, Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, Teatro Bellini in Catania, Teatro Lirico di Cagliari, Teatro Verdi in Trieste, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, and the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago) and in numerous theatres abroad (Barcelona, Buenos Aires, Valencia, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Wuhan, Suzhou, Tokyo, Nagoya, Otsu, Tel Aviv, Dubai, Muscat, and Las Palmas).

His principal roles include performances in Nabucco, Simon Boccanegra, Luisa Miller, Aida, Macbeth, Attila, La Forza del Destino, Ernani, Rigoletto, Il Trovatore, Don Giovanni, Le Nozze di Figaro, Così fan tutte, Die Zauberflöte, L’Italiana in Algeri, Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Semiramide, Norma, I Puritani, Lucrezia Borgia, Don Pasquale, Turandot, La Bohème, Madama Butterfly, Roméo et Juliette, Les Contes d'Hoffmann, Aci e Galatea, L’Orfeo, Nerone, Carmen, Der fliegende Holländer, and La Gioconda. He has collaborated with renowned conductors including Maazel, Mehta, Chailly, Santi, Renzetti, Armiliato, Palumbo, Oren, and Kovatchev, and with stage directors such as B. de Tomasi, P.L. Pizzi, H. de Ana, D. Abbado, K. Ricciarelli, H. Brockhaus, D. Michieletto, and M. Pontiggia.

His concert repertoire includes sacred and secular works such as Il Ballo delle Ingrate, Vespro della Beata Vergine, cantatas by Bach, Händel, Stradella, and Caldara; Bach's Mass in B minor, St John Passion, and Magnificat; Verdi's Messa da Requiem; Händel's Messiah; Haydn's Die Schöpfung, Cäcilienmesse, and Paukenmesse; Mozart's Requiem; Beethoven's Symphony No. 9; and Rossini's Stabat Mater and Petite Messe Solennelle.

At the Arena di Verona, he performed the roles of Zaccaria in Nabucco and Ramfis in Aida in 2022, returning in the latter role the following year. He returns once again to the Verona stage for both versions of Aida presented at the 103rd Arena Opera Festival 2026.
