Tagliavini Roberto

Bass

Born in Parma, Roberto Tagliavini studied singing in his hometown with baritone Romano Franceschetto.
He regularly performs at the world's leading opera houses with a repertoire ranging from Rossini, Mozart, Bellini and Donizetti to the French and Verdi repertoires.

Among his signature roles are Alidoro (La Cenerentola), Fernando (La gazza ladra), Lord Sidney (Il viaggio a Reims), Maometto (Maometto II), Moïse (Moïse et Pharaon), the Governor (Le Comte Ory), the Count and Figaro (Le nozze di Figaro), Leporello (Don Giovanni), Rodolfo (La sonnambula), Oroveso (Norma), Giorgio (I Puritani), Raimondo (Lucia di Lammermoor), Philip II (Don Carlo), Attila (Attila), Zaccaria (Nabucco), Pagano (I Lombardi), Silva (Ernani), Des Grieux (Manon), Escamillo (Carmen), Frère Laurent (Roméo et Juliette), Lindorf, Miracle, Coppélius and Dapertutto (Les Contes d'Hoffmann), and Méphistophélès (Faust), as well as Mozart's, Donizetti's and Verdi's Requiems and Rossini's Stabat Mater.

He has performed at Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Opéra National de Paris, Teatro Real in Madrid, the Salzburg Festival, the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome, the Royal Opera House in London, the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Los Angeles Opera, the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg, Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam, the Vienna State Opera, the Bavarian State Opera in Munich, Zurich Opera House, and the Rossini Opera Festival in Pesaro.

During the 2024/25 season, he performs in I Puritani, Il Trovatore, Don Carlo, La Cenerentola, and I vespri siciliani.

He made his debut at Verona's Teatro Filarmonico in 2012 in La gazza ladra, returned in Macbeth, and in 2013 performed the title role in Attila. At the Arena di Verona, he sang the King in Aida in 2010 and from 2012 to 2015. In 2013, he appeared in Il Trovatore; in 2015 and 2024, in Il Barbiere di Siviglia; and in 2020, he took part in the Rossini Gala. He opened the 2025 Arena di Verona Opera Festival as Zaccaria in Nabucco, a role he reprises in 2026.
