Nicolò Rigano

Baritono

Nicolò Rigano studied Voice at the A. Scarlatti Conservatory of Palermo and graduated in Political Science. He won competitions for positions with the Chorus of the Teatro Massimo Bellini, the Fondazione del Teatro Comunale di Trieste, the Fondazione del Teatro La Fenice di Venezia, and the Fondazione Arena di Verona.
He made his solo debut in the role of Silvio in I Pagliacci after winning the Battistini Competition.
He alternates the principal roles of the lyric baritone and the traditional lyric baritone repertoire. He has collaborated with the Orchestra Santo Stefano of Vicenza, the Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto, the Orchestra Toscanini of Emilia-Romagna, the Camerata Strumentale di Prato, I Virtuosi Italiani, the Accademia delle Muse of Verona, and the Orchestra Città di Cremona, performing Liszt's Christus, Fauré's Requiem, Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle, Beethoven's Ninth Symphony and Mass in C major, Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, Charpentier's Te Deum, Puccini's Mass, Mascagni's Mass in F major, Mozart's Missa Brevis in G major, Requiem and Missa Brevis in C major, Salieri's Requiem, Haydn's Schöpfungsmesse, Schubert's Mass in A-flat major, D 678, Brahms' Ein Deutsches Requiem, Schubert's Mass in G major, the Motet for Saint Paolino, Bruni's Requiem, the oratorio in honour of Saint Omobono by Migliavacca, and Donella's oratorio La Storia Maledetta.

He has performed the roles of Marcello, Schaunard, Benoit and Alcindoro in La Bohème, Belcore in L'elisir d'amore, the Sacristan in Tosca, Count Almaviva in Le nozze di Figaro, Monterone in Rigoletto, Sharpless, the Imperial Commissioner and Prince Yamadori in Madama Butterfly, Luciano in Faccio's Amleto, Barnabotto in La Gioconda, Guccio in Gianni Schicchi, the Third Inquisitor in Dom Sébastien, Zuniga in Carmen, the Servant and the Commissionaire in La Traviata, and Paris in Roméo et Juliette. He sang for the Jubilee of the Year 2000.
For the Arena Young series, he starred in Il Pandoro Magico. He performs on the stage of the Verona amphitheatre in 2026 during the 103rd Arena di Verona Opera Festival.
