Carolina López Moreno

Carolina López Moreno is one of the most fascinating sopranos of her generation, internationally recognized for her exceptional vocal technique, emotional intensity and magnetic stage presence. Still only in her early thirties, she performs the most demanding leading roles of the repertoire in many of Europe's most prestigious opera houses, including the Royal Opera House in London, the Teatro di San Carlo, the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma and the Gran Teatre del Liceu.

She made her London debut in La rondine under the direction of Sir Antonio Pappano and at the BBC Proms with the London Symphony Orchestra to critical acclaim.

Recent seasons have brought her a series of important artistic successes, including Manon Lescaut in Cologne, Zemfira and Nedda in Aleko and Pagliacci at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, and her debut in the role of Violetta in La Traviata at the New National Theatre Tokyo. Her performances in Palermo attracted extraordinary critical attention for their visceral dramatic realism and emotional truth.

Particularly appreciated for the dramatic intensity and vocal splendor of her interpretations, López Moreno also received exceptional recognition for her Santuzza in Cavalleria rusticana under the direction of Thomas Hengelbrock and was nominated as a “Rising Star” at the International Opera Awards.

In 2026 she performed at the closing ceremony of the Winter Olympic Games at the Arena di Verona, reaching the global cultural scene.

Alongside her operatic career, she is increasingly involved in cinema, international artistic collaborations and cultural projects.

She makes her debut on the stage of the Veronese amphitheatre in La Bohème for the 103° Arena Opera Festival.
