The Arena di Verona Opera Festival is more inclusive than ever

The Arena di Verona Opera Festival is more inclusive than ever
As part of the 2025 Arena per Tutti program, 26 performances will include accessibility services and digital materials for people with sensory and intellectual disabilities. At 16 of these, audience members can also book a backstage multisensory tour at the Arena di Verona Opera Festival.
These tours are led by stage crew and production staff—the very people who bring each performance to life, down to the smallest detail.
When multisensory tours are not scheduled before the performance, audience members can still enter the Arena early to enjoy its unique atmosphere. They are free to explore the stalls, take in the setting, and engage with the opera using accessible digital materials on their smartphones.
There are three new experiential workshops entirely dedicated to opera singing at the Teatro Filarmonico. They feature two opera singers and a pianist who demonstrate how the diaphragm is used to achieve voice control and how the rib cage is used to propagate sound. The participants use all their senses to understand how voice intensity is modulated in order to make the voice stronger and richly nuanced.
Indeed, they can literally touch the singers with their hands to perceive the movements and vibrations of their bodies, allowing them to feel the music.

Each tour is tailored to different needs: dates are specifically designed for deaf and hard-of-hearing people, blind and visually impaired people, and people with intellectual disabilities.
