Alexander Vinogradov

Alexander Vinogradov made his debut at the age of twenty-one at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow. Since then, he has pursued an outstanding international career and is a regular guest at the world's leading opera houses, including the Royal Opera House Covent Garden in London, the Metropolitan Opera, Teatro alla Scala, Opéra National de Paris, the Staatsoper and Deutsche Oper in Berlin, the Vienna State Opera, Teatro Real in Madrid, and many others.

He regularly collaborates with conductors such as Daniele Gatti, Daniel Barenboim, Zubin Mehta, Myung-Whun Chung, Gustavo Dudamel, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, Gianandrea Noseda, and Sir Antonio Pappano.

Among the highlights of his career are Roméo et Juliette (Frère Laurent) at Teatro alla Scala, Carmen (Escamillo) and The Tsar's Bride at the Royal Opera House in London, Ernani (Don Ruy Gomez) at the Opéra de Monte-Carlo and Opera Australia in Sydney, The Barber of Seville (Basilio) and Die Zauberflöte (Sarastro) at the Berlin State Opera; Les Vêpres siciliennes (Procida) at the Palau de Les Arts in Valencia and the Zurich Opera House, Les Contes d'Hoffmann at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, and Don Carlo (Philip II) in Buenos Aires, Los Angeles, and Valencia. Among his recent successes are Nabucco and Rusalka at the Vienna State Opera, I masnadieri at Teatro Real in Madrid, Don Carlo at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Norma at La Monnaie in Brussels, and La sonnambula at the Metropolitan Opera in New York.

He made his Arena di Verona debut in 2016 as Escamillo in Carmen, returning in the same role in 2018. At the 100th Opera Festival in 2023, he performed Ramfis in Aida and Zaccaria in Nabucco. In 2024, he appeared as Ramfis in Aida, Basilio in The Barber of Seville, Colline in La Bohème, dedicated to the Puccini centenary celebrations, and as soloist in Beethoven's Symphony No. 9. In the same year, he made his debut at the Teatro Filarmonico in Die Zauberflöte for the opening of Fondazione Arena's 2024 season. In 2025, he once again performed the roles of Ramfis and Escamillo, as well as Zaccaria in the new production of Nabucco. In 2026, he returns to the Arena for Aida and Nabucco.
