About

The Queen of the Arena returns to the Amphitheatre in the vision of Gianfranco de Bosio. A grand classic that is both a tribute to the first summer in the Amphitheatre, recreating Fagiuoli’s 1913 production, and to its performance history. Aida is revitalised on the immense stage of the Arena, with costumes inspired by the first designs of the Egyptologist Mariette, and direction that faithfully follows Verdi’s own stage instructions.
