Fondazione Arena di Verona, in collaboration with Corriere della Sera, presents the series "È tutta scena e ve la racconto..." (It’s all an act and I’ll tell you about it), the new series by crime writer Marco Malvaldi.

Many of us know him as the author of “I delitti del BarLume”. But perhaps not everyone knows he’s also a great opera fan, with years of singing studies to his credit. So who can reveal the secrets and subplots of the most popular operas better than him?

In this episode, we go to Paris to discover what is concealed in La Traviata, which we will be able to see in 2022 at the Arena di Verona Opera Festival (all the info here). Violetta’s story is well known, as are all the most popular pieces: particularly “Libiamo ne’ lieti calici”. But what is hidden among the notes of a pentagram? What can we read between the lines of the libretto?

This will be revealed to us precisely by Malvaldi, who is definitely a master of revealing secrets. Because in opera, to paraphrase a famous aphorism, “everything is fake... but nothing is false”.
