Arena di Verona

Covid and Tickets

Dear spectator,

To ensure the distancing necessary for preventing the spread of Covid-19, we have had to adapt the capacity of the Arena  di Verona to the number of spectators indicated by the official provisions of the 25th May 2021 (6,000 persons).

We are working on the reallocation of all the tickets purchased before this date. In such an extraordinary period, it is difficult to maintain normal procedure. We therefore kindly ask for your understanding and are pleased to share such a historic happy moment with you.

If you have already written requesting information, we shall reply as soon as possible. However, we wish to inform you that due to the extraordinary circumstances it might be necessary to wait longer than usual

Replies to the most frequent questions follow: we hope they help to solve any doubts you have.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do I need the Green Pass to access the shows in the Arena?

From 6th August, pursuant to Article 3 of Legislative Decree 23rd July 2021 n.105, access to the shows of the Arena di Verona Foundation will be allowed only to spectators with a Green Pass - EU Digital Covid Certificate.

You can get the Green Pass with:

• A dose of Covid-19 vaccine

• The completed Covid-19 vaccination course

• Certificate of a rapid molecular or antigen test with a negative result for the Sars-Cov-2 virus, carried out no later than 48 hours prior to the show

• Certificate certifying that you have been healed from Covid-19 in the last 6 months

Children under the age of 12 and those who have a suitable medical certification issued according to the criteria defined in the circular of the Ministry of Health are exempt from the obligation of the Green Pass.

Fondazione Arena di Verona has organized the verification service of individual Green Passes at the entrances to the Arena to facilitate access as much as possible and avoid crowds.

However, to allow the verification services to be carried out in time for the start of the show, the public must arrive at the entrances of the Arena corresponding to the admission ticket well in advance (at least 90 minutes before the start of the show). The gates open at 6.30 p.m.

Verification of the Green Pass will make it essential to ascertain the individual identity of the relative holder.

The presentation of the entrance ticket and the Green Pass will be considered as tacit consent to the verification of individual identity by the staff of the Arena di Verona Foundation.

Those who arrive late at the Arena or without the Green Pass will not be admitted inside the Arena without the right to a refund of the admission ticket.

I got the Covid Digital Certificate / Green Pass in another EU country. It is valid?

Yes, EU Covid Digital Certificates / Green Passes obtained in other European Union countries are also valid in Italy. At the entrance to the Arena you just need to show your Green Pass with its QR code and an identity document.

I come from a non-EU country and therefore do not have a Green Pass. What should I do?

According to the circular of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, vaccination certificates are also valid for citizens of NON-EU countries as long as they are written in one of the following languages:

- Italian

- English

- French

- Spanish

If the certificate was not issued in one of the four languages indicated, it must be accompanied by a sworn translation. The vaccines currently accepted in Italy and authorized by EMA are:

- Comirnaty (Pfizer-BioNtech);

- Spikevax (Modern);

- Vaxzevria (AstraZeneca);

- Janssen (Johnson & Johnson).

I purchased a ticket before 25th May 2021. What should I do?

If you purchased before May 25th, you don’t need to do anything. Five days before the show, via e-mail, you will receive your new allocation to accompany the original ticket. Both are necessary to enter the Arena. if your show is more than 5 days away, we kindly request you to bare with us and wait before contacting us.

If you have not yet received our e-mail, you can recover your seat number ticket anyway by following the procedure at this link.

N.B.: we have reallocated the seats for shows up to 3rd September 2021. If you have a ticket for a show scheduled for a later date, please await a message from us via e-mail in the next few days.

One special recommendation: both the original 2021 ticket, which you already have, and the new seat number ticket are required to enter the theatre.

In any case, don‘t worry if you have not received the new allocation. Come to the Arena slightly in advance and the staff in Piazza Bra will be happy to reprint your seat number ticket.

I have not yet received my seat number ticket or have lost it

The seat number tickets will be sent five days before the date of your show, via e-mail.

If your show is more than 5 days away, we kindly request you to bare with us and wait before contacting us.

N.B.: at the aforementioned link, only seat number tickets for shows until 3rd September 2021 are available at present. We are working on the repositioning for the dates from 4th September onwards. If you have a ticket for a show scheduled for a later date, please await a message from us via e-mail in the next few days.

In any case, don‘t worry if you have not received the new allocation. Come to the Arena slightly in advance and the staff in Piazza Bra will be happy to reprint your seat number ticket.

Following the link for recovering the new seat number tickets, I can’t find the date of my show

We confirm that only seat number tickets for shows until 3rd September 2021 are available at present. We are working on the repositioning for the dates from 4th September onwards.  If you have a ticket for a show scheduled for a later date, please await a message from us via e-mail in the next few days.

How were the new seats allocated?

When allocating your new seat, we took into consideration the value of your ticket and its original position.

More in detail, we bore in mind the following criteria: the row and seat allocated (dividing the theatre into even and odd seats), the sector chosen (the new sectors have fewer seats, even if adapted), the closeness in the same row of tickets purchased by the same people or by groups and the chronological order of purchase (for the dates of particular interest).

I bought several ticket for seats alongside one another. With the new layout will we still be seated near one another?

When repositioning the seats, we certainly bore your choice in mind. However, we wish to remind you that, due to the anti-Covid provisions, not all seats are able to be used, so there will be empty spaces in any case. If you notice that the numbers of the seats are not in sequence on the new seat number tickets, this is the reason.

The people accompanying me and myself have received our new tickets, but we are no longer beside one another

We confirm that we followed your preferences when allocating the new seats. If you see that numbers are "skipped" between the tickets allocated (e.g. 12 – 16 – 20), this is because there will be empty seats between you due to anti-Covid provisions.

I do not like the seat you have allocated me

We are sorry that you are unsatisfied with your new seat.

We hope that you realize that repositioning tens of thousands of spectators is a complicated process we had to organize in a very short time. We are sorry if this situation has created any inconvenience, but realize that this may have happened despite our best intentions. We are certain that together we will manage to come through a dramatic period such as this and that next year spectators and organizers will be able to meet at the Arena, to celebrate an Opera Festival without the trouble of the Covid-19 pandemic

Bearing this in mind, we must inform you that the only reason for which we can ensure reimbursement of tickets is in the event of the value of the ticket that we have sent you being lower than the one you purchased. This has happened in very rare cases on the dates 19th June, 26th June, 3rd July, 3rd August and 17th August.

I am no longer able to come to the Festival

We are not normally able to reimburse tickets already purchased.

Nevertheless, Fondazione is trying to help those spectators who have objectives hindrances for reaching Verona due to the continuation of the emergency. In these cases, spectators can choose a change of date for 2021 or a ticket for the 2022 festival at a symbolic price.

The following are considered as objective hindrances:

- Proven health reasons due to the Covid-19 emergency

- Prohibition of travel to Italy established by the Country of departure

- Prohibition of landing in Italy

- Lack of flights for reaching Verona easily

- Quarantine on retuning to the country of origin

If these conditions still persist 21 days prior to the date shown on your ticket, they give the right to the facilitations foreseen by the Fondazione. Please write to info@arenadiverona.it

I have a voucher issued following the Covid emergency. When is it valid till?

According to the indications published in the Official Gazette of 21st May 2021, vouchers’ validity has been extended from the 18 months previously foreseen to 36 months from the date of issue of the credit.

What happens to my voucher once it expires?

At the end of the 36 months, although not foreseen by law, Fondazione Arena di Verona has decided to reimburse any vouchers not yet used.

I forgot to request the voucher for my 2020 ticket

Unfortunately, as you know, the deadline foreseen by law for the request expired some time ago. Nevertheless, Fondazione Arena di Verona is trying to help its spectators. Write to promozione@arenadiverona.it and you will receive an offer for the purchase of 2021 tickets.

I have still to purchase my ticket

Do so immediately – tickets are already finishing for some dates. You can purchase tickets here!

What anti-Covid safety measures will be adopted during the shows?

You can find all the information regarding Covid-19 safety protocol, including the regulations to be observed in the theatre, at this link.

Must I wear a protective facemask? What type?

Use of an FFP2 facemask is compulsory. We wish to remind you that masks must always be worn: from the queue outside the theatre, during the show and the intervals, until you leave. For the complete regulations, click here.
