Introduction

Guidelines on the accessibility of services, in implementation of Article 21 of Legislative Decree No. 82/2022.

The decree was published in the Official Gazette (General Series No. 152 of 01-07-2022) and came into force on July 16, 2022, but its provisions will be effective from June 28, 2025.

Fondazione Arena di Verona is committed to making its websites accessible in accordance with May 27, 2022, No. 82, which transposed Directive (EU) 2019/882 of the European Parliament and of the Council of April 17, 2019, on accessibility requirements for products and services. This accessibility statement applies to the websites https://www.arena.it/

Status of compatibility with the requirements

The website https://www.arena.it/ are partially compliant with the requirements of Annex A of UNI EN 301549:2018 (WCAG 2.1) due to the cases of non-compliance and/or exceptions listed below. Fondazione Arena di Verona is conducting together with its suppliers an analysis aimed at making the necessary interventions to make the sites in question accessible and compliant with the standard.

Non-accessible content

The following content is not accessible because it is not compatible with the underlying harmonized standard EN 301 549:

  • On single pages there are images without captions. It is difficult to navigate to the images with screen readers. | WCAG: 1.1.1
  • There are links without link text on many pages. | WCAG: 4.1.2
  • On all pages, the contrast between text and background is too low. | WCAG: 1.4.3
  • On single pages there are 'iframe' elements without labelling. Navigation with screen readers to the iframes is difficult. | WCAG: 4.1.2
  • On single pages, the language stored in HTML does not match the page language. | WCAG: 3.1.1
  • On single pages there are headings that have no caption or contain the aria-hidden attribute and are therefore not accessible to screen readers. | WCAG: 1.3.1
  • On single pages, a parent element lacks the appropriate child elements. This can confuse screen reader users because content is expected but none is there. | WCAG: 1.3.1
  • On many pages there are elements with the Aria-hidden attribute that can be focused at the same time. This makes these elements accessible to assistive technologies, even though they should be hidden. | WCAG: 4.1.2
  • There are interactive elements on single pages whose names are not part of the caption. This makes it difficult to control the website using voice control. | WCAG: 2.5.3
  • There are elements on a page whose Aria ID occurs several times. This makes it difficult to navigate the website with screen readers. | WCAG: 4.1.2

The evolutions to the code made and future ones, have been and will be developed in compliance with WCAG 2.2 guidelines. The statement was drafted on 27.06.2025. The statement was made using an assessment in accordance with the requirements of Directive (EU) 2019/882 through self-assessment carried out directly by the provider. The declaration was created with the help of Eye-Able® technology by Web Inclusion GmbH. More information about Web Inclusion GmbH can be found at https://eye-able.com/en.

Fondazione Arena di Verona is conducting an analysis with its suppliers to make the necessary changes to make the sites in question accessible and compliant with the regulations. Fondazione Arena di Verona with a view to progressively improving the experience of its web customers, has also proactively implemented the SaaS Eye-Able® software by Web Inclusion GmbH.
The functionality in question allows audits to scan individual pages of the site for digital barriers, providing compatible support that explains the error and proposes an alternative code to correct it, and other tools that allow website users to utilise important functions that can improve navigation. The company is committed to developing past and future code evolutions in accordance with WCAG 2.2 guidelines.
