After the bel canto repertoire, in recent years he has also triumphed in the dramatic repertoire, becoming one of today's greatest interpreters of Otello, with his debut at La Fenice in Venice, and subsequently in Japan and at the Doge's Palace conducted by Chung, in Valencia conducted by Mehta, in Turin conducted by Noseda, in Genoa, Seville, Madrid, London, Barcelona, Munich, Monte Carlo, Dresden, Vienna, Pamplona, Paris and at the Teatro San Carlo in Naples conducted by Mariotti.
He made his debut on the European scene as a conductor at the Donizetti Festival in Bergamo with Maria di Rohan and conducted Il Barbiere di Siviglia at La Fenice in Venice, as well as a symphonic concert at the Opéra de Nice.

He made his debut in 2015 at the Arena di Verona in the role of Radamès in Aida, which he reprised in 2018, 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026. In 2018 and 2024 he took on the role of Calaf in Turandot.
