Wolfgang Bozic studied pianoforte and orchestra direction at the Academy of Graz, his native city. Subsequently, he specialized with Bruno Maderna and Carlo Zecchi in Salzburg and at the Accademia di Santa Cecilia in Rome with Franco Ferrara. From 1975 to 2001 he was initially the principal conductor of the Graz Opera where he increased his repertoire both in the operatic sector as well as all other genres. He has collaborated with the Symphonic Orchestra of the Vienna Radio Station, with the Symphonic Orchestras of Budapest and has performed in the Wiener Volksoper, the Theatre of Basel, the Staatstheater of Saarbrücken, the Staatsoper in Hamburg and the Komische Oper in Berlin.
In September 1996 he conducted the première of Der Rosenkavalier
by Strauss at the Metropolitan Opera in Seoul.
Since 1998 he has worked with the Teatro Verdi in Trieste where he conducted symphonic concerts and performances of Wozzeck
