Stage and Costume designer

Viacheslav Okunev received his diploma from the Theatre, Music and Cinema Institute in Saint Petersburg. He has collaborated with prestigious Russian Theatres working on more than 170 productions, among which: La Sylphide by Levenskyold at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, The Love for Three Oranges by Prokofiev, Coppelia by Delibes, Giselle by Adam at the Mariinskij in Saint Petersburg, The Tsar's Bride by Rimsky-Korsakov in Kiev, Die Zauberflöte by Mozart, Katerina Izmaijlova by Shostakovich in Minsk and Boris Godunov by Musorgsky in Odessa.

Viacheslav Okunev is currently the principal scenographer at the Mosorgskij Opera and Ballet Theatre in Saint Petersburg where he was responsible for scenes and costumes for La Medium by Menotti, Gianni Schicchi and Tosca by Puccini, Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, Swan Lake by Tchaikovsky, Don Chisciotte by Minkus, The Tale of Tsar Saltan by Rimsky-Korsakov, La Traviata and Rigoletto by Verdi and Die Fledermaus by Strauss.

In January 2000 he created the stage design for Cherevichki by Tchaikovsky at the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari and in April 2002 he was responsible for the scenography for Don Giovanni at the Teatro Filarmonico in Verona.
