Born in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, he has studied vocals at the Escuela Superior de Canto in Madrid. He has improved his singing skills with M° Carlos Chausson in Barcellona and with M° Daniel Muñoz.
He has worked with the following conductors: Jesus Lopez Cobos, Miguel Ortega, Adrian Leaper, Achim Fiedler, George Haidjinikos, Tulio Gagliardo Varas, Alejo Perez, Pedro Halffter, Martin Merry and many others. Since his first performances, his majestic presence on stage and great voice is appreciated; his debut has taken place at the Teatro Real in Madrid with
Lohengrin, conducted by Jesús López Cobos. In Bilbao and in Rio de Janeiro he has been Don Basilio in
Il Barbiere di Siviglia.
He has also played the role of Colline in
La Bohème in Madrid; Zuniga in
Carmen, in Alicante, Malaga and Gijon; the Duke of Verona in
Roméo et Juliette at the Jerez Theatre; Ferrando of
Il Trovatore in Alicante; Simone of
Gianni Schicchi in Madrid and Sparafucile in
Rigoletto, in Madrid; Ramfis in
Aida by Verdi in Bruxelles, Bruges, Liegi; Angelotti in
Tosca; Zio Bonzo in
Madama Butterfly, and Leuthold in
Guglielmo Tell by Rossini, conducted by M°Zedda.
In 2011, he has performed the world première of “
Yo, Dalì” at the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid and at the Liceu Theatre in Barcellona. He has made his debut in Buenos Aires with the role of Le Grand Inquisiteur in
Don Carlos, and after that he inaugurated the season at the Teatro Argentino de La Plata in 2012, with
Das Rheingold. He has performed at the San Zeno Concert, by Fondazione Arena di Verona, as leader bass in
Te Deum by Bruckner, gaining great public and critic approval. He will be Zuniga during 2012 Arena di Verona season. Then, in 2013, he will join the first performance in Latin America of
Pepita Jiménez by Albeniz in Buenos Aires,
Don Giovanni at the Teatro Regio in Turin and
Stiffelio in Montecarlo.
