Rachele Stanisci 
SOPRANO 
Rachele Stanisci was born in Brindisi and began her singing studies at very young age with Gina Salvagno. Winner of the competition of the Milan academy “Scuola di Perfezionamento Artisti lirici del Teatro Alla Scala” she perfected her education from 1987 to 1989 and won in 1989 the singing competition “Maria Caniglia” of Sulmona and in 1991 the competition “AS.LI.CO”, which lead her to take part in the productions of the Lombard theaters La Bohème (Mimì and Musetta) and Il Turco in Italia (Fiorilla). The subsequent seasons see her in productions like Schumann’s Manfred, Scarlatti’s Il Trionfo dell’Onore (Doralice), Falstaff (Nannetta), Fedora (Olga), Il Cappello di Paglia di Firenze (Elena), L’elisir D’Amore (Adina), Il Signor Bruschino (Sofia) and La Cambiale di Matrimonio (Fanny), Il Matrimonio Segreto (Elisetta), Paisiello’s Il Re Teodoro in Venezia (Lisetta), La Boheme (Mimì e Musetta). She performed in important theaters: Opera Royale de La Monnaye” (Bruxelles), Teatro Du Capitole di Toulouse, Dresden Festival Wiesbaden, Opéra di Montpellier, Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Oper Frankfurt, Bayerische Staatsoper Munich, Theatre Des Champs Elysee of Paris, Opera di Montecarlo, Teatro Regio Turin.

Since the begining of 2000, she changed her repertoire, interpreting more dramatic roles: Le Nozze di Figaro (Contessa) at Teatro La Fenice in Venice, Don Giovanni (Donna Elvira) and Oberto, Conte di S.Bonifacio (Leonora) at Bassano Opera Festival; Falstaff (Alice) at the Oper Leipzig and at Teatro Municipal di Santiago del Cile; La Bohème (Mimì e Musetta) at Opera Hannover; Pagliacci (Nedda) and Gianni Schicchi (Lauretta) at Teatro Municipal di Santiago del Cile, at the side of Leo Nucci.

She performed at Sferisterio in Macerata Don Carlo (Elisabetta); at Comunale di Modena, at Goldoni di Livorno and at Municipale in Piacenza for her debut in Norma (title role) and Così Fan Tutte (Fiordiligi). She sang in Faust (Marguerite) in Pavia, Como, Brescia, Cremona, Aida at Politeama Greco di Lecce, Attila (Odabella) at Comunale di Modena and Municipale di Piacenza (directed by Pier Luigi Pizzi). She made her debut in Nabucco (Abigaille) at the side of Leo Nucci and debuted at Teatro del Liceu di Barcellona as Norma in 2007.

Her recent engagements are Luisa Miller (Luisa) at Teatro Verdi di Sassari (dvd Bongiovanni) ; Suor Angelica and Manon Lescaut at Teatro Massimo di Palermo; Marino Faliero (Elena) at Verdi in Sassari and at the Festival Donizettiano di Bergamo (cd Dynamic); Don Carlos (Elisabetta, 5 acts) at Staatsoper Hamburg; Norma at ABAO in Bilbao; Il Trovatore at Teatro Perez Galdos in Las Palmas and at Teatro Verdi di Trieste. She has been Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni at the Festival di Avenches (conducted by Gianluca Martinenghi and directed by Giancarlo Del Monaco).

In 2011 Rachele Stanisci made her debut in Francesca da Rimini at Opéra Bastille (Daniel Oren, Giancarlo Del Monaco). She has been Hèléne in Les vêpres siciliennes at Teatro San Carlo di Napoli (conductor Gianluigi Gelmetti) and Liù in Turandot at Teatro Massimo in Palermo. 2010 she performed in Beatrice di Tenda at Teatro Massimo Bellini di Catania (conducted by Antonio Pirolli and directed by Henning Brockhaus) she has been Mimi in La Bohème at Teatro Massimo di Palermo, Beatrice in Natura Viva (world premiere) of Marco Betta, at Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Florence and sang in Massenet’s Don Quichotte (conductor Alain Guingal, director Laurent Pelly) in Palermo. Among her future engagements: Carmen (Micaela) at the Theater Luebeck, Iris at Teatro Filarmonico di Verona (title role) and La Battaglia di Legnano (Lida) at Teatro del Liceu di Barcelona.
