
His debut performances in
NABUCCO at the Verona Arena (1981) and in
AIDA at the Teatro alla Scala (1986) were swiftly followed by numerous appearances in the opera houses of Madrid, Barcellona, Munich, Paris, London, Ginevra, Zurich, Berlin, Hamburg, Vienna and during the following years in the rest of the world; Australia, Japan, U.S.A. (Metropolitan, San Francisco Opera and Chicago Opera) He has worked with conductors of the calibre of Riccardo Muti (
NABUCCO at the Teatro alla Scala in 1988), Georges Prêtre, James Colon, Giuseppe Patané, Nello Santi, Gianandrea Gavazzeni, Sir Colin Davis, Zubin Mehta and John Eliot Gardiner.

LA BOHÈME directed by Luigi Comencini and produced by Erato-Gaumont.
