
Rubens Pelizzari has studied vocals with the famous mezzo soprano Adriana Lazzarini, who left good memories for her performances of Aida, Il Trovatore and many other operas in the Arena. After that, he improved his skills with another great artist: Sara Sforni Corti.
Despite his recent beginning only 6 years ago, he made his debut at the Teatro Massimo di Palermo in 2004 as the protagonist of
I Vespri Siciliani by Verdi, followed by another prestigious debut in
Il Corsaro by Verdi in 2005, under the guidance of M° Bruno Bartoletti at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genova, and in
La Forza del Destino with the Toscanini Foundation in Parma, under the guidance of Julian Kovatchev.
Since his first appearances, he has been noticed for his vocal peculiarity and for his stage presence.
In just a couple of years he performed a huge repertoire, based on roles like Radames in
Aida, Manrico in
Il Trovatore, Don José in
Carmen (which has been his Japanese debut in Tokyo), to arrive to other operas as
Medea,
Samson et Dalila,
Cavalleria e Pagliacci,
Il Tabarro by Puccini,
Tosca and
Madame Butterfly, and
La Fanciulla del West and his debut in
Norma, in Spain, with Elisabete Matos.
Among his most recent performances:

Tosca at the Israeli Opera in Tel Aviv, under the guidance of Daniel Oren;

Carmen at the Opera de Lausanna and on Tour in Tokyo;

Aida in Seoul with the Arena Sferisterio of Macerata and at the Bregenzer Festopiele, in 2009 e 2010

Pagliacci at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genova, directed by Franco Zeffirelli.
At the present year 2011, he is debuting at the Arena di Verona, playing Ismael in the traditional production of
Nabucco, conducted by M° Julian Kovatchev.
