Aris Argiris 
BARITONE 

A winner of the 2002 “International Voice Competition” at the Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg, the greek baritone Aris Argiris has rapidly imposed himself on the international scene as one of the most promising young singers in the operatic repertoire.

Since 1999 he regularly appears in Greece in such theaters as the Athens State Opera House, the Megaron in Athens and the Thessaloniki Opera House.
On top of Don Giovanni (titlerole), his repertoire includes the following roles: Escamillo (Bizet’s Carmen), Belcore (Donizetti’s L’Elisir d’amore), Schaunard and Marcello (Puccini’s La Bohème), Dandini (Rossini’s La Cenerentola), Fieramosca (Berlioz’s Benvenuto Cellini), Sharpless (Puccini’s Madama Butterfly), Guglielmo (Mozart’s Così fan tutte), Figaro (Rossini’s Il Barbiere di Siviglia), Pilade (Händel’s Oreste), Germont (Verdi’s La Traviata), Donner (Wagner’s Das Rheingold).


He has worked with such conductors as Christian Thielemann, Kurt Masur, Yakov Kreizberg, Gustav Kuhn, and Donato Renzetti. 

 In June 2010 he made his outstanding Covent Garden debut performing the role of Escamillo in Bizet’s Carmen. He opened the 2010/11 season performing La Traviata (Giorgio Germont) at the Komische Oper in Berlin, La Bohème (Marcello) at the Monnaie in Bruxelles, Don Giovanni (title role) at the Oper der Stadt in Bonn.

His future plans include Le Villi (Guglielmo), Otello (Jago), Adriana Lecouvreur (Michonnet), Les Contes d’Hoffmann (four roles) and I Masnadieri (Francesco) at the Oper of Frankfurt, La Traviata and La Bohème (Marcello) at the New National Theatre of Tokyo, Carmen (Escamillo) at the Hamburgische Staatsoper and at the De Vlaamse Opera in Antwerp and Un Ballo in maschera (Renato) at the San Diego Opera.
