Born in Verona, Simone Piazzola started studying music at age 11 with soprano Alda Borelli Morgan. In 2004, he participated in several concerts organized by the Fondazione Arena di Verona. In 2005, he won the first prize at the Marie Kraja Competition in Tirana, and in 2007 he obtained first place at the European Community Competition of the Teatro Lirico Sperimentale in Spoleto.
He perfomed in U. Giordano’s Il Re in Foggia, under the baton of Maestro Fratta, as well as in Rigoletto, with Maestro Campanella with the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome and in a tour that the company organized in Japan. He also debuted in the role of Conte di luna in Trovatore at the Teatro Nuovo in Spoleto, with Maestro Palleschi.
Highlights of 2008 include his debute in La Bohéme in Venice and a series of Puccini’s concert in Las Palmas.
In the 2009, we underline his participation in La Bohéme in Messina, Maria Stuarda (Cecil) in Venice, Madama Butterfly (Sharpless) and La Traviata (Germont) in Verona and Florence, Valentin in Faust and Marcello in La Bohème at Bellini Theatre in Catania, Francesco in I Masnadieri and Paolo in Simon Boccanegra at teatro Regio in Parma.
In the Summer of 2009, Mr. Piazzola will take part at the Serata di Gala con Placido Domingo, at the Arena of Verona.
Mr Piazzola was member of the Academy of the Teatro alla Scala in Milan and in 2008 he was also finalist at the Placido Domingo’s Competition “Operalia” as well as at the “Voci Verdiane” Competition in Busseto.
