Gianluca Martinenghi 

Gianluca Martinenghi studied piano with Piero Rattalino and composition with Bruno Bettinelli and first began conducting under the guidance of Donato Renzetti and Giacomo Zani. At the beginning of his career, he collaborated with celebrated conductors like Gianandrea Gavazzeni, Yuri Ahronovijtch, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Rudolph Barshaj, and Bruno Campanella. The main productions he has conducted include: I Capuleti e i Montecchi at Teatro Massimo di Palermo, La traviata at Teatro Bellini di Catania, La sonnambula at Teatro Comunale di Bologna, Lucia di Lammermoor at Deutsche Oper in Berlin, and Don Giovanni at the Avenches Opera Festival with the orchestra of Suisse Romande.
He enjoyed considerable acclaim with the operas Otello, Andrea Cheniér, and Manon Lescaut in the most important traditional Italian theaters. In 2009 he made his debut at the Teatro Filarmonico di Verona with the opera La Traviata. Recently he appeared as guest conductor at the Opera Festival in Tenerife and at the Teatro Petruzzelli di Bari and he debuted in the US with the opera Così fan tutte.
His future engagements include Don Carlo at Festival de Opera de Tenerife and two symphonic concerts with the Muenchner–Rundfunkorchester and the Symphonic Orchestra of Montreal.
