Paolo Battaglia, following his musical studies in clarinet and saxophone, dedicated his time to studying voice, receiving a diploma at the Conservatorio ‘Luca Marenzio’ in Brescia. He subsequently won various national concerts.
Since 1997 he has performed in numerous operas in important musical institutions, among which Lucia di Lammermoor (Raimondo), Macbeth (Banquo), Un Ballo in maschera (Tom), Tosca (Angelotti) Luisa Miller (Count Walter)in Oslo, Il Trovatore (Ferrando) at the Opéra in Montecarlo and in Lisbon, Un Ballo in maschera (Tom)with the Bayerischer Rundfunk, Falstaff (Pistola) in Aix-en Provence, in Lisbon at the Théâtre des Champs Elysées de Paris, Fedora (Cirillo) at the Teatro degli Arcimboldi in Milan. Among his most recent engagements: La Bohème (Colline) for the Festival in Glyndebourne and for the Teatro alla Scala; Nabucco (Zaccaria) at the Teatro Cilea in Reggio Calabria; Tannhäuser (Reinmar von Zweter) at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan.
At the Arena di Verona he sang in the role of Timur in Turandot, in the part of Zuniga in Carmen, while at the Teatro Filarmonico he performed in Falstaff and in the Il Barbiere di Siviglia.
In the 2006 summer opera festival at the Arena he will perform the part of The King in Aida.
