Massimiliano Pisapia 

Born in Turin, Massimiliano Pisapia started his vocal studies in 1992 and later specialized under the guidance of Franco Corelli. Winner of "Giulietta Simionato" and "Tito Gobbi" competitions, he made his operatic debut as Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly at the theatres in Pavia, Brescia and Como (Italy).

He imposed himself on the international scene interpreting Riccardo in Un Ballo in Maschera at the Opernhaus Leipzig under Riccardo Chailly's baton. He has then started a successful career performing in many of the world's most important concert halls and opera houses, such as the Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Opernhaus Zurich, Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, Hamburgische Staatsoper, Teatro Colõn in Buenos Aires, Teatro del Maggio Musicale in Florence, Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, Teatro Regio in Turin, Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Arena di Verona, Teatro Verdi in Trieste, Teatro Regio in Parma and Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago.

His repertory includes Madama Butterfly, Rigoletto, Les Contes d'Hoffmann, Macbeth, Simon Boccanegra, La Bohème, Un Ballo in Maschera, I Lombardi alla Prima Crociata, Roberto Devereux, L'Elisir d'Amore, Gianni Schicchi, La Traviata and Lucia di Lammermoor, to name only a few. He regularly collaborates with numerous important conductors, including Antonello Allemandi, Bruno Bartoletti, Riccardo Chailly, Kazushi Ono, Daniel Oren and Stefano Ranzani.

Highlights of his successful career include: La Bohème in Santiago de Chile, Valencia, Hamburg, Zurich, Milan, Turin, Genoa, Verona, Florence, Torre del Lago, Cagliari and Palermo; Madama Butterfly in Tokyo, Beijing, Paris, Hamburg Staatsoper, Valencia, Milan, Rome, Venice, Verona, Genoa, Torre del Lago, Parma and Palermo; Un Ballo in Maschera in Munich, Hamburg, Leipzig, Dusseldorf, Vienna, Trieste, Genoa, Strasbourg, Mulhouse and Colmar; Simon Boccanegra in Vienna, Hamburg, Valencia and Turin; Gianni Schicchi at the Opera in Frankfurt; Attila in Amsterdam; Lucia di Lammermoor in Las Palmas; Roberto Devereux in Munich and Bergamo; L'Elisir d'Amore, Luisa Miller and Macbeth in Turin; I Lombardi alla Prima Crociata in Buenos Aires and Florence; Les Contes d'Hoffmann in Pavia, Brescia and Como; and Capriccio in Cagliari.

Mr. Pisapia enjoys a vast concert activity: Rossini's Stabat Mater in Milan, Zurich and Einsiedeln (Switzerland); Dvorak's Stabat Mater in Florence, Verona and Genoa; Beethoven's Symphony n.9 and Verdi's Requiem in Cagliari; and Berlioz's symphony Roméo et Juliette in Brussels.

He recently performed Roberto Devereux at the Teatro dell'Opera in Rome; Luisa Miller at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich; Lucia di Lammermoor in Hamburg, Rovigo and in Pordenone; Dvorak's Stabat Mater in Trieste; Madama Butterfly, La Bohème at the Teatro Regio in Turin; La Traviata at the Festival Puccini in Torre del Lago; Poliuto in Zurich; La Bohème (open air charity concert) at the Salzburg Festival Daniele Gatti conducting; Verdi's Requiem in Moscow; La Bohème in Salzburg and Dresden.

His future plans include: La Bohème in Las Palmas; Madama Butterfly in Minorca; Poliuto in Marseille; Lucia di Lammermoor, I Lombardi alla Prima Crociata and La Bohème in Hamburg; Macbeth in Verona (Teatro Filarmonico).
