Chiara Chialli 
Chiara Chialli was born in Sansepolcro (Arezzo) and became interested in music at the age of eight, beginning studies in piano which were followed by studies in composition at the "F. Morlacchi" Conservatory in Perugia. In 1989 she began to study opera singing with Maria Grazia Pittavini, subsequently studying with Anne English Santucci at the Conservatory of Perugia, obtaining a diploma with the highest score "cum laude" in 1996. She attended Master Classes by Renè Clemencic, Lejla Gencer, Robert Kettelson, Edoardo Muller, Renato Scotto, Ferruccio Soleri and in 1998 she entered the Accademia Rossiniana of Pesaro, conducted by Alberto Zedda. In 1997 she won the As.Li.Co. (Associazione Lirico Concertistica) competition for opera singers of the European Community.

In 1993 she performed as a soloist at Cantiere Internazionale d'Arte of Montepulciano in the First Italian performance of the contemporary opera Leyla und medjnun by Detlev Glanert in the roles of Mother, Little Girl and Giraffe, directed by Markus Stenz and Lorenza Cantini.

In 1996 she performed the role of Mrs. Slender in Falstaff, ossia le tre burle by A. Salieri, staged by "Società dell'Opera Buffa" of Milan, conducted by Alberto Veronesi and directed by Beni Montresor, at Teatro Sociale of Lecco, Teatro Parenti of Milano, Fraschini of Pavia and in 1998 at B.A.M. (Brooklyn Academy of Music) of New York in "Spring Season".

In 1997, having won the As.Li.Co. Competition, she made her debut in the following roles: Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro by W.A. Mozart, conducted by Corrado Rovaris and directed by Flavio Ambrosini; Meg Page in Falstaff by G. Verdi, conducted by Tiziano Severini and directed by Gigi Dall'Aglio, Diamantina and Dottorina in L'Isola di Merlino by C.W. Gluck, conducted by Carlo De Martini and directed by Francesco Micheli, at the following Theatres: Teatro Grande of Brescia, Teatro Fraschini of Parma, Teatro Sociale of Como, Teatro Ponchielli of Cremona and Teatro Cagnoni of Vigevano. In March 1998 she performed at Teatro Regio of Parma in Hänsel und Gretel by E. Humperdink in the role of Hänsel, conductor Massimo De Bernard and director Lorenzo Arruga.

In October 1998 she performed Cherubino in Le Nozze di Figaro by W.A. Mozart at the Teatro Pergolesi (directed by Fabiano Monica and Eike Gramss). In November 1998 she performed Meg Page in Falstaff by G. Verdi (conducted by Massimiliano Stefanelli and Paolo Baiocco) at Teatro Verdi of Sassari.

In July 1999 she participated in the Festival Internazionale di San Gimignano performing in the role of Cherubino in Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro conducted by Marco Pace and directed by Paolo Pierazzini making her debut in the part of Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia by G. Rossini conducted by Giacomo Loprieno and directed by Roberto Guicciardini.

In October of the same year she was Isaura in Tancredi by G. Rossini at the Teatro Verdi in Sassari conducted by Carlo Palleschi and directed by Stefano Vizioli. In December 1999 she interpreted the role of the Fairy in the contemporary opera by Massimo Priori Il Marchese dei Turaccioli, conducted by Maurizio Dini Ciacci and directed by Paolo Valerio, at the Teatro Zandonai in Rovereto, the Teatro di Corte in Naples, the Teatro Nuovo in Verona and the Teatro San Marco in Trento.

In May 2000 she interpreted Despina in Così fan tutte by W. A. Mozart at the Teatro Marrucino by Chieti conducted by Maurizio Dones and directed by Lorenzo Arruga. In August 2000 she performed the role of Suzuki in Madama Butterfly by G. Puccini at the Festival Pucciniano in Torre del Lago conducted by Massimo Morelli directed by Vivien Stefano Monti. In December 2000 she was the Second Lady Attendant in Il Flauto magico by W. A. Mozart at the Teatro Vittorio Emanuele in Messina conducted by Marco Balderi and directed by Francesco Torregiani.

In July 2001 she interpreted Prezosilla in La Forza del destino by G. Verdi in Busseto, conducted by J. Kovatchev and directed by B. De Tomassi. Subsequently she interpreted Bersi in Andrea Chénier in Mantua conducted by A. Veronesi. Subsequently Chiara Chialli participated in the following productions: Nabucco in Ravenna in the role of Fenena; the title role of The Medium by Menotti in Trieste where she also interpreted Suzuki in Madama Butterfly conducted by F. Carminati and recently she performed the part of Charlotte in Werther conducted by D. Oren; Rigoletto in Macerata in the role of Maddalena conducted by D. Callegari and directed by G. Agostinucci alongside M. Devia and M. Alvarez; and once again she performed the role of Charlotte at the Santa Cruz Theatre in Tenerife.

Recently the mezzo-soprano once again interpreted the role of Suzuki in Madama Butterfly in Naples conducted by Yves Abel; and subsequently also at the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago.

Her future engagements include her important debut at the Teatro degli Arcimboldi for the inaugural production of the 2003-04 season of the Teatro alla Scala, in Moïse et Pharaon by Rossini in the role of Sinaïde.

She made her debut as Charlotte in Werther by Massenet at the Teatro Verdi of Trieste, conducted by Daniel Oren, a role that she performed again in Tenerife and that she will perform at the Teatro Regio of Turin in 2005.

She recently performed Maddalena in Rigoletto in a production of the Fondazione Toscanini of Parma and Suzuki at Teatro delle Muse of Ancona, a role that she performed again at Teatro dell'Opera of Naples and at the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago.

She collaborated with the Orchestra of the College of Manchester, the Philharmonic Orchestra of Lublin, the Chamber Orchestra of Presov, the Symphonic Orchestra of Kiev, the Orchestra Marchcigiana, the Orchestra Sinfonica of San Remo, the Orchestra I Pomeriggi Musicali, the Orchestra Centelli, the Orchestra Stabile del Teatro of Como, the Orchestra Filarmonica of Turin, etc.

She has performed numerous sacred and baroque music concerts with the following repertoire: Stabat Mater, Messa per Santa Cecilia by A. Scarlatti; Gloria, Magnificat, Stabat Mater, Juditha triumphans by A. Vivaldi; St. John's Passion, Mass in B minor, Christmas oratorio by J.S. Bach; Messiah, Cantate for voice only, Semele by G.F. Händel; Oratorio serpentes ignei in deserto by J.A. Hasse; Stabat Mater, Miserere, Salve regina, Messa romana in F by G.B. Pergolesi; Nelsonmesse, Theresienmesse by F.J. Haydn; Requiem, Messa dell' incoronazione K 317, Mass in C minor K 427 by W.A. Mozart; Petite messe solennelle, Stabat Mater by G. Rossini; Messa di gloria and Credo by G. Donizetti; Requiem by Giuseppe Verdi; Laudes evangeli by V. Bucchi sung for the 20th anniversary of the death of the composer, together with Lajos Kozma, collaborating with the Fondazione "Valentino Bucchi"; Oratorio la tempesta sul lago by D. Bartolucci (Sagra Musicale Umbra of 1999).

She recorded Falstaff, ossia le tre burle by A. Salieri, in the part of Mistress Slender for Chandos. She interpreted Meg Page in the recording of Falstaff by G. Verdi for Arkadia. She recorded Messa romana in F by G.B. Pergolesi for Kho, with the sponsorship of the "Fondazione Pergolesi" by Jesi. She recorded The Messiah by G. F. Händel for Kicco Classic.

She recorded Ghost Cafè by Carlo Galante for l' Agorà.
