Greek soprano Dimitra Theodossiou studied under the guidance of Birgit Nickl. She won important international contests such as: “Belvedere”, “Operalia”, “Viotti”, “Di Stefano”, “Verdi d’Oro” ,"Premio Associazione Parma Lirica" and the "Premio Monteverdi".
She burst onto the international opera scene in 1999 after her successful interpretation of Odabella in Attila at the Teatro Comunale in Bologna and at the Teatro Regio in Parma, from that moment she started a brilliant career, guest in some of the most prestigious theatres in the world such as: Teatro alla Scala, La Fenice in Venice, Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, San Carlo in Naples, Teatro dell’Opera in Rome, Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Opèra in Montecarlo, Arena and Teatro Filarmonico in Verona, Arena Sferisterio in Macerata, Opernhaus in Zurich, Bayerische Staatsoper in Munchen, Teatro Municipal in Santiago de Chili, Teatro Real in Madrid, Théâtre Royal de la Monnaie in Bruxelles, Teatro São Carlos in Lisbon, Opera in Budapest, Konzerthaus in Vienna, Teatro dell’Opera in Seoul, Teatro Municipal de São Paulo, only to name a few.

Active also on the concert side Dimitra Theodossiou performed in Verdi’s Requiem in Paris, Toulouse, Rome, Genoa, Bologna, Assisi and in Milan in honor of Luciano Pavarotti. She was also protagonist in concert in Frankfurt, Budapest, Athens. In 2007 she performed in concert at the Teatro La Fenice in Venice for the New Day’s Year concert and then for the concert in honor of Maria Callas (live broadcast for Rai and Rai Trade).
She regularly collaborates with such conductors as: Abbado, Bertini, Biagioni zu Guttemberg, De Billy, Callegari, Campanella, Carignani, Cavallaro, Chailly, Elder, Gelmetti, Gergiev, Jurowski, Karabtschewski, Letonia, Luisi, Luisotti, Muti, Palumbo, Pesko, Pidò, Pirolli, Renzetti, Rizzi, Severini, Steinberg, Tolomelli, Viotti and with director as: Hugo de Ana, Pierluigi Pizzi, Igor Mitoraj.
She recorded Ricci’s Corrado di Altamura (Delizia) for Opera Rara.
She recently made her debut in Ernani in Bilbao (ABAO) and in Maria Stuarda in Palermo (Teatro Massimo). She sang also the role of Giselda in I Lombardi alla prima crociata at the Sferisterio Opera Festival; Roberto Devereux (Elisabeth) in Montreal; Beatrice di Tenda (Beatrice) at the Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania; Luisa Miller (title role) in Salerno. She has begun 2011 performing in La Forza del Destino at the Teatro Regio in Parma, after that she sung Il Trovatore in Lecce and Norma (title role) in Las Palmas.
Future plans include: Ernani (Elvira) in Bologna and then on tour in Japan; Norma (title role) in Tel Aviv and Salerno; Nabucco in Verona, Athens and Japan; Il Trovatore in Salerno.
