Born in Genova in 1976, he began his singing studies as a bass in 1992 with Maestros Paolessi and Arcidiacono, and from 1997 studied with Maestro Roberto Negri at the Accademia di Palazzo Ducale.
He took part in several International Competitions, among which the "Leoncavallo" Contest in Locarno, where he won the prize for the most interesting young talent, and the "Caruso" Competition where he was given a special mention twice.
He sang in concerts in Genoa, Milan, Turin, Locarno, Belgrade, and in operas like Adriana Lecouvreur, Aida, Samson and Dalila, Nabucco, Il Trovatore, followed by Cecchina, o sia la buona figliola, coproduced by Teatro Parenti, Teatro all Scala and Società dell'Opera Buffa di Milano.
In 1999 he joined the Voice Academy of the Teatro alla Scala, where he made his debut as the second prisoner in Fidelio, on the opening night of the 1999/2000 season, and as Angelotti in Tosca, both conducted by Maestro Muti, the latter televised on RAI and recorded for Sony. He also took part in Adriana Lecouvreur. He made his debut in Verdi's Requiem in Belgrade and sang in La Bohème, Il Trovatore, La Traviata and Un ballo in Maschera at La Scala and in La Bohème at the Teatro Comunale in Florence also to be televised, and Manon in Trieste.
He made his debut at the Covent Garden opera with a new production of Rigoletto for the inauguration of the 2001/2002 season, and later opened La Scala Season in a new production of Otello. His future engagements include new productions of Otello with Zubin Mehta at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino in Florence and James Conlon at the Opéra Bastille, ll Barbiere di Siviglia, Oberto, La Bohème and Aida at La Scala, La Bohème in Bologna, Adriana Lecouvreur at the Teatro dell'Opera in Rome, Lucia di Lammermoor in Palermo, Il Barbiere di Siviglia in Tokyo, Die Meistersinger von Nurnberg in Florence, I Capuleti & I Montecchi at La Bastille. Parodi will also take turns of interpreting the King and Ramfis in Aida at the Arena di Verona in 2002.
