Fiorenza Cedolins 

Fiorenza Cedolins, one of the world’s premier sopranos, has performed at the Arena di Verona since 1999 when she debuted in Tosca, conducted by Daniel Oren and directed by Giuliano Montaldo. 

Since then, she has performed the lead role in every single Arena season ( Il Trovatore for the 2001 Verdi’s Celebration, Aida, Madama Butterfly, La Bohème, and Messa di Requiem). 

During her renowned international career, she has interpreted significant artistic roles in the world’s major theaters including: Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Metropolitan Opera House in New York, the Covent Garden in London, the Opera Bastille in Paris, and Teatro Liceu in Barcelona. 

In 2013, Fiorenza will perform at the Festival of Salzburg in Falstaff with conductor Zubin Metha and director Damiano Michieletto. Additionally, Fiorenza will perform Madama Butterfly at the Teatro La Fenice of Venice, conducted by Omer Meir Wellber. Fiorenza will also perform Messa di Requiem at the Festival Verdi in Parma, conducted by Daniele Gatti. 

Her repertoire ranges from Bellini’s Norma to Donizetti’s Maria Stuarda, from Verdi’s Otello to Don Carlo, as well as Puccini’s Manon Lescaut, Giordano’s Andrea Chenier and Cilea’s Adriana Lecouvreur

Fiorenza is the winner of Premio Abbiati from Critica Italiana, including two editions of the Opera Award and Premio Campoamor from Spanish Critic. Furthermore, for the first time in the history of Arena di Verona, she is also the winner of two consecutive editions of Premio Zenatello for her interpretations at the Arena

In addition to her artistic activities, she is also Teacher for vocal technique and interpretation Master Classes in collaboration with the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano.
