The seminar consists of 10 lectures from March 2nd untill March 31st 2010, tuesdays from 17.20 p.m. – to 19.00 p.m. lecture hall 1.2 and wednesdays from 17.20 p.m. – to 19.00 p.m. lecture hall 1.1.

It is an activity opened to all the degree courses of Arts and Philosophy Faculty of the University of Verona and to anybody is interested to intensify the knowledge about Operas of the coming season in the Arena.

For each opera the seminars will explore the literary text (with stage directions) and the musical organization of the score. Afterwords will be listened and expounded some pieces of each opera and finally will be shown in DVD Carmen by G. Bizet libretto by H. Meilhac and L. Halévy - Aida by G. Verdi libretto by A. Ghislanzoni - Madama Butterfly by G. Puccini libretto by G. Giacosa and L. Illica.

 This time in Tokyo to celebrate the 45th anniversary of the Tokyo Corporation TV, the spanish tenor will sing again in the role of Otello, Cyrano De Bergerac and Don José, in a production half semi staged and half staged with spectacular video projection of great impression.The prestigious event plans a performance of the last acts of Otello by Giuseppe Verdi, Cyrano De Bergerac by Franco Alfano and Carmen by Georges Bizet, directed by Stefano Trespidi, stage design and projections by Ezio Antonelli. Pier Giorgio Morandi is conducting Orchestra and Chorus of the Arena di Verona, Raffaella Angeletti is Desdemona, Isabelle Kabatu Roxane, Geraldine Chauvet Carmen.

On Sunday February 14th 2010 Plácido Domingo will be on the podium to conduct Orchestra and Chorus of the Arena di Verona, in a special performance of Aida by Giuseppe Verdi: ‘Aida on Valentine’s day a special love story’.
