The last opera of the season, Charles Gounod’s Romeo and Juliet, will début on Saturday, 23rd August at 8.45 p.m. under the direction of Francesco Micheli. Now on the calendar for the fourth consecutive season, it has already been reconfirmed for 2015. The three performances will be conducted by Jean-Luc Tingaud making his début in the Arena.

On 24th August  third performance of Aida in the not-to-be-missed edition inspired by the original 1913 staging directed by Gianfranco de Bosio. For the first three performances, the conductor will be Daniele Rustioni making his début in the Arena then Fabio Mastrangelo.

On Wednesday, 27th August at 8.45 p.m. Giacomo Puccini’s Madama Butterfly third performance with Franco Zeffirelli’s set design which has always been enthusiastically received. The costume designer is Oscar prize winner, Emi Wada and the choreographer, Maria Grazia Garofoli. Marco Armiliato will conduct the orchestra.
