With this initiative, Fondazione Arena intends offering youngsters the possibility of discovering the world of Opera and its artistic, communicative and creative potential.
AMO takes pupils from schools of all levels and courses of study, enabling them to see the scenery and costumes actually used on the Arena’s stage and showing the youngsters the creative work carried out by various artists for the creation and production of an Opera. We want to offer an enjoyable interactive learning format that puts the class at the centre of the educational experience by means of various didactic courses.

OPERA IN THE MUSEUM
How is an Opera born? Who invents the story it tells? Who writes the words that will be sung? How is music composed for an orchestra? Who creates the costumes and the scenery and according to what ideas? The whole process is supported by historical documents: photographs, librettos, sheet music, letters, sketches, designs and multimedia technology for listening to and admiring Operas.
UPSIDE DOWN OPERA
A great Fable with characters and performers adapted by the kiddies, finales taken apart and revisited, plots that are changed according to what their age suggests.
THE ABC OF OPERA
The ABC of stories and music: from the Operas proposed by the educational team, the class chooses one to perform live in the Rehearsal Room, develops sketches and designs in the workshops, then finishes with the sharing of the skills acquired, meeting and discussing.
AN IDEA CALLED OPERA
The pupils find themselves involved in the collaborative process that Opera teaches, developing the idea of the set, space, movement, the characterization of the characters performed, experiencing the plot of the Opera chosen and considering it in different settings.
OPERA ILLUSTRATED… AT SCHOOL!
A lesson/performance. Who creates it, who gives it, who sings it, who plays it, in other words: the brilliant career of Riccarda the soprano.
As of this year, the AMO educational team – La Foglia e il Vento – offers the possibility of staging a lesson/performance in schools requesting it.
The performance, by means of the voice of Riccarda the soprano and a variety of expressive languages (live music, singing, images, scenery), evokes and highlights figures forming a very important legacy of memory and culture. It is suitable for pupils aged between 6 and 12, can be staged on Tuesdays and Fridays and lasts approximately an hour.
