From Milan to the Opera Festival

Reaching the Arena from Milan

As well as its industrial design, Italy’s internationally famous fashion capital offers some of Italy’s best-known historic monuments, which a tourist cannot miss. First and foremost, Milan Cathedral, dedicated to the Nativity of St Mary, followed by the magnificent Sforza Castle, Arch of Peace, Teatro alla Scala and Vittorio Emanuele II gallery. If you are an art lover, pop over to the Brera National Gallery of ancient and modern art and visit the Basilica of Santa Maria delle Grazie, where, in the adjacent ex-refectory, you will be able to admire the Leonardo da Vinci’s suggestive Last Supper. Lastly, treat yourself to a stroll in Sempione Park, the city’s romantic “English-style” green oasis.

If you want to add a further stop to your vacation and visit a city famous for its art and culture, opt for Verona, a few kilometres from Milan. There you will fall under the city’s spell and have the unmissable opportunity of treating your self to a night at the Arena di Verona to see great evergreen opera classics.
