On Thursday 24th July at 9 p.m. fifth performance of Un ballo in maschera by Giuseppe Verdi. This opera, which has not been on the Festival programme since 1998, will be directed by Pier Luigi Pizzi, who has also created the costumes and scenery. Lighting Design is by Vincenzo Raponi and choreography by Renato Zanella.

On Friday 18th July 2014 at 9 p.m. sixth performance of Georges Bizet’s Carmen will be on stage. This year, 2014, marks 100 years since its first performance in the Arena in Verona. The director and scenographer is Franco Zeffirelli, Costume Designer Anna Anni, and the Flamenco choreography of El Camborio revived by Lucia Real.

On 26th July at 21.00 the fifth performance of Giacomo Puccini’s Turandot is on stage under the masterful direction and splendid stage design of Franco Zeffirelli with costumes by Oscar winner, Emi Wada. Choreography by Maria Grazia Garofoli and lighting designer Paolo Mazzon. All 7 performances will see Daniel Oren on the podium.

The eighth performance of Giuseppe Verdi’s Aida is on stage on Sunday 27th July at 9 p.m. This quintessential Arena title is presented in the new futuristic version which inaugurated the Centennial Festival last year.
