Winner of the Salzburg First International Prize in 1982 then he enjoys continuous collaborations with the most important French, Italian, Spanish theatres. He also collaborated with Grand Théâtre de Génève, Zurich Opernhaus, National Theatre in Zagreb, Welsh National Opera, Montreal Opera, Seattle Opera. He works regularly with the Orchestre de la Radio Suisse Romande, Czech Philharmonic Orchestra, Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, BBC Symphony Orchestra, Europe Chamber Orchestra, English Chamber Orchestra, Slovenian Radio Television Orchestra conducting many symphonic concerts in Europe, United States and Egypt.
During the last seasons he was at the Teatro Regio in Turin for Don Quichotte, at the Opéra des Flandres for Werther, at the Berlin Deutsche Oper for Lucia di Lammermoor and Semiramide, at the Ravenna Festival with Faust, in Oslo with Les Dialogues des Carmélites and Carmen, in Seattle with Pagliacci and Cavalleria rusticana, Carmen in Torino, Aida in Amsterdam and Mannheim, La Sonnambula at the Arena and more recent at the Teatro Filarmonico in Verona. In February 2007 he conducted Alfano’s Cyrano in Valencia and subsequently Manon at the Berlin Staatsoper, Faust at the Zurich Opernhaus, Carmen at the Berlin Deutsche Oper. He recently conducted La Damnation de Faust at the Dresden Semperoper and Cyrano at the Teatro alla Scala in Milano, Manon at the Opera de Nice, Werther at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Monaco.
Among his past performances it’s worth mentioning the Gala Concert for the re-opening of the Opéra Comique Salle Favart in Paris (1989), with June Anderson, Rockwell Blake, and the Orchestra of the Opéra National de Paris; Postillon de Longiumeau by Adam; Massenet’s Histoire de Manon, Berlioz’s Le Rouge et le Noir, Henze’s Undine, Gounod’s Faust at the Teatro alla Scala; Cherubini’s Médée at the Martina Franca Festival; La sonnambula and La Bohème at the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma; Chérubin at the Opéra de Montecarlo. At the Massenet Festival, he conducted Cleopatra and the oratorio La Vierge, followed by Esclarmonde, Grisélidis, Panurge and Le Cid, Gounod's Sapho and Thaïs.
Last year he conducted La Traviata at the Ravenna Festival and in Parma with the Fondazione Arturo Toscanini, he was at the Bayerische Staatsoper for Werther, La Damnation de Faust at the Dresden Semperoper, Iphigénie en Tauride at Palau de les Arts in Valencia.
He recently conducted I Pagliacci at the Theater of Maggio Musicale in Firenze, Cyrano by Alfano at Théâtre du Châtelet in Parigi and at Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia in Valencia Turandot.
Forthcoming engagement include Louise in Strasburg , Lucia di Lammermoor at the Staatstheater in Stuttgart and Les Contes d’Hoffmann at the Metropolitan Opera in New York.
