Born in Parma, one of the most exciting conductors of his generation, Sebastiano Rolli distinguished himself as one of best interpreters of Verdi and Donizetti.
He worked with such Orchestras as Orchestra "Giuseppe Verdi" of Parma (of which he is music director), Orchestra "Arturo Toscanini", Sanremo Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra "Gianandrea Gavazzeni" of Brescia, Chamber Orchestra "Cleofonte Campanini" , Orchestra 'Gioacchino Rossini' of Pesaro in several opera productions and symphonic recordings.
His vast symphonic repertoire includes authors such as J.S. Bach, G.B. Pergolesi, G. Handel, Vivaldi, Beethoven, Brahms R. Wagner WA Mozart, Haydn , B. Britten, M. Ravel, Dvorak , J. Strauss, Sibelius, Ravel, G. Gershwin, and others.
In the 2011/12 season he gained a great success conducting productions of Macbeth at the Slovak National Opera in Bratislava and Maria Staurda at the Teatro Sociale di Rovigo and the Teatro Donizetti in Bergamo.
He opened the 2013/14 season with the great success of Maria di Rudenz at the Teatro Donizetti in Bergamo, followed by Falstaff at the Teatro Verdi in Busseto.
Among his future engagements are Maria Staurda to Teatro Filarmonica di Verona, I Puritani at Slovak National Opera in Bratislava and Torquato Tasso at the Teatro Donizetti in Bergamo.
Among his many publications, two critical studies of Giuseppe Verdi and Giuseppe Di Stefano for Azzali Editore . He regularly holds courses of Verdi interpretation and choral music. He was professor of voice and diction for singers at Fondazione Arturo Toscanini and at Fondazione Teatro alla Scala in Milan.
