Tatiana Melnychenko began her artistic career in the Opera Theatre of Odessa – a city of great operatic tradition.
In 2000 the great Spanish tenor Alfredo Kraus chose her for the singing department of the Queen Sofia School of Music in Madrid where she stayed to completed her training with renowned mezzo-soprano Teresa Berganza.
The period from 1996 to 2005 was a time of great success for Tatiana at highly prestigious international singing competitions - she won the ones in Toulouse, France (Grand Prix), "Julián Gayarre" in Pamplona, Spain (1st Prize), received by world famous tenor Jose Carreras; Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic (1st Prize), Verviers, Belgium (2nd Prize), "A. Fernández Carriedo” of the Guerrero Foundation (1st Prize) and “Francisco Alonso” (1st Prize) , both in Madrid.
The soprano has appeared at many important venues and concert halls in Europe - among them are the Konzerthaus( Berlin ), Auditorio Nacional (Madrid), Palau de la Musica (Barcelona), Flagey Concert Hall (Brussels) ,Victoria Hall (Geneva) ,the Palace of Festivals ( Santander), Konzerthaus (Dortmund), Tonhalle (Dusseldorf) , Philharmonic Hall (Odessa) and concert halls in Koln and Essen (Germany), Segovia, Pamplona and Palma de Mallorca, as well as the Royal Colliseum Carlos III in Spain.
Melnychenko has taken part on two occasions in the Lyrical Galas of R.T.V.E. with the Symphonic Orchestra of Spanish Radio and Television, under conductors E.García Asensio and M. Á. Ortega in the Monumental Theatre in Madrid. In 2001 she took part in “The April Spring Friendship Art Festival” in Pyongyang ( North Korea ) where she won the “Gold Cup” Award .
Recent appearance of Tatiana Melnichenko this season will be in the role of Lady Macbeth in Macbeth in Staatsteater Klagenfurt.
