
Cristina Melis, a degree in flute and in singing at the Accademia per Giovani Cantanti Lirici of the Toscanini Foundation in Parma, has won several competitions, successfully playing the part of Azucena in
Il Trovatore by Verdi.
Since then, she has been singing in Italy and worldwide in prestigious theatres, as the Regio in Parma, the Opera in Rome, the Comunale of Bologna, in Modena, in Rovigo, the Sociale of Mantua, the Olimpico of Vicenza, the Bolshoi in Moscow, the Opera of Tolone and Cairo, and the Freiburg and Toulouse theatres.

Faust by Gounod,
Cavalleria Rusticana by Mascagni,
Madama Butterfly,
Gianni Schicchi and
Il Tabarro by Puccini,

Rigoletto by Verdi, playing different parts.
In 2007 she sang in
La Petite Messe Solennelle in Modena and Bologna with the Toscanini Orchestra; shw has been Azucena in Parma, Reggio Emilia and Ferrara, and, in 2008, the Third Lady in
Die Zauberflöte by Mozart, at the Accademia Santa Cecilia in Rome.
In 2009, on the occasion of the opening of Parma summer season, she made her debut as Amneris in
Aida by Verdi, and interpreted the
Ninth Simphony by Beethoven with the Orchestra Sinfonica Romana, in the Accademia S.Cecilia.
In 2010 she performed the
Requiem by Verdi in Cairo and
La Cenerentola by Rossini in Turin and Parma, and she debuted in the Arena di Verona in
Carmen by Bizet, playing Mercedes.
In 2011 she made her debut with the role of La Cieca in
Gioconda by Ponchielli, at the Teatro Massimo of Palermo, and sang the
Requiem by Mozart in Verona, and the
Requiem by Verdi in Saint Petersburg.
