Teresa Romano 
SOPRANO 
Teresa Romano was born in 1985. She began to study singing with mezzosoprano Giuliana Valente and in June 2005 received her diploma in singing performance with top scores at the Conservatory of Music “Giuseppe Martucci” in Salerno.
In winter 2004 she won the first prize at the 11th “Tito Schipa” International Singing Competition in Lecce and the 35th “Vincenzo Bellini” International Singing Competition in Caltanissetta (Sicily). For her particular vocal gifts and the young age, in January 2005, she won the first “Aldo Protti” special mention, created by the Foundation Theatre “A. Ponchielli” of Cremona, during the 55th “As.Li.Co.” lyric contest.
In July 2005 she is among the winners of the two-years scholarship at the Academy for Lyric Singers of La Scala Theatre. During this period she performs, in the theatre, several concerts both with piano and orchestra including concerts of lieder repertoire under guidance of M° James Vaughan.
She made her debut at La Scala Theatre as Venere in ASCANIO IN ALBA by W. A. Mozart, conducted by M° Giovanni Antonini in october 2006, and as Fiordiligi in Mozart's COSÌ FAN TUTTE, conducted by M° Ottavio Dantone in november 2007.
In october 2008 she won first prize at the 48th International Singing Contest “Voci Verdiane” in Busseto. She also sang as Alice Ford in Verdi's FALSTAFF in the theatres of the Circuito Lirico Lombardo, with the “As.Li.Co.” association.
In 2009 she sang as Madama Cortese in Rossini's VIAGGIO A REIMS at the Teatro alla Scala, with the direction by Luca Ronconi; she sang in Bologna and Jesi in a concert dedicated to Pergolesi conducted by M° Claudio Abbado and recorded by Deutsche Grammophon; she made her debut at the Arena of Verona as Desdemona next to Placido Domingo during the Gala in his honor and she sang at L'Aquila in a lyric concert conducted by M° Riccardo Muti.
In 2010 she made her debut at Teatro San Carlo in Naples, for its reopening as Vitellia in Mozart's LA CLEMENZA DI TITO conducted by M° Jeffrey Tate and directed by Luca Ronconi; she made her debut at the Teatro dell'Opera in Rome as Margherita in Boito's MEFISTOFELE conducted by M° Renato Palumbo and directed by Filippo Crivelli; in summer she made her debut at Macerata's Sferisterio as Leonora in LA FORZA DEL DESTINO under the direction of Pier Luigi Pizzi; in october she made her debut as Leonora in Verdi's IL TROVATORE at the Teatro Regio in Parma, conducted by Yuri Temirkanov.
She also sang as soloist in two concerts broadcast nationwide on Radio Network with the “Orchestra della Rai di Torino”.
In 2011 she made her debut as Amelia in Verdi's UN BALLO IN MASCHERA in Macerata, directed by Pier Luigi Pizzi.
In october 2012 she won 1st prize and audience prize at the Gian Battista Viotti International Music Competition in Vercelli, where she has also been awarded 1st prize of the second edition of the "Luciano Pavarotti Giovani" award.
