
Ms. Lewis will make her debut with the Bayerische Staatsoper during the 2008-09 season singing the title role of Verdi’s
Aida under the baton of Maestro Daniele Gatti. Other engagements will include her debut with the Arena di Verona, the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma, as well as the Teatro Municipale Verdi di Salerno singing the title role of Verdi's Aida under the baton of Maestro Daniel Oren.
Other engagements include her debut with Teatro La Fenice as Soprano Soloist in
Britten's War Requiem as well as Gala Concerts under the baton of Maestro Bruno Bartoletti with Teatro Politeama Pratese and Teatro Mazoni, the title role in
Aida as well as the role Leonora in Verdi's
Il Trovatore with Lirica di Opera Festival di Veneto under the baton of Maestro Omer Meir Wellber, Micaela in Bizet’s
Carmen with Opera Bilbao, and a Gala concert with Teatro Savona under the baton of Maestro Paolo Bisanti.
Ms. Lewis made her Italian debut during the 2007-08 season singing the role Leonora in Verdi’s
Il Trovotore under the baton of Maestro Bruno Bartoletti at Teatro Carlo Felice. Other commitments included the roles of
Aida with Städtische Bühnen Münster, Liu in
Turandot with Semperoper Dresden, and Serena in
Porgy and Bess with Opera de Lyon. In Summer 2008, Ms. Lewis sang the title role in
Aida together with Johan Botha as Radames at the Savonlinna Opera Festival.
Ms. Lewis made her Cairo Opera debut in the fall of 2006 singing the title role in Verdi’s
Aida. Other engagements during the 2006-07 season included a concert appearance with the Sofia National Opera Orchestra, Mimi in
La Boheme with Opera Birmingham, repeat performances of Sister Rose in Heggie’s Dead Man Walking with Semperoper Dresden, and the title role in Wolf-Ferrari’s
Il Segreto di Susanna at the Konzerthaus Wien.
Engagements during the 2005-06 season included her Semperoper Dresden debut singing Sister Rose in the European premiere of Heggie’s Dead Man Walking. Ms. Lewis also appeared with Opera Birmingham singing Donna Anna in
Don Giovanni and Musetta in
La Boheme with Sarasota Opera. She also sang the title role in Aida at the Bizkaia Arena in Barakaldo, Spain.
Engagements during the 2004-05 season included Donna Elvira in
Don Giovanni with Opernfestspiele Heidenheim. Ms. Lewis appeared with Opera Birmingham singing High Priestess in
Aida and covered the title role. Also during the 2004-05 season, Ms. Lewis appeared in concert with the Istanbul State Opera Orchestra, having had a resounding success singing Leonora in excerpts from Verdi’s Il Trovatore. In Vienna, Austria, she appeared in concert at the Old City Hall, performing scenes from Verdi’s Il Trovatore and Un Ballo in Maschera.
Concert highlights have included singing Soprano soloist in Rossini’s Stabat Mater, Mozart Requiem, Brahms Requiem, Beethoven Choral Fantasy, Poulenc Gloria, Faure Requiem, Rutter Gloria, and Mendelssohn Psalm 42.
Ms. Lewis is a native of Little Rock, Arkansas. She is a two-time National Finalist in the Metoropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. She was a finalist of the “XLVI Concours International de Chant de la Ville de Toulouse”(2006), a winner of the “Internationalen Gesangswettbewerb Ferruccio Tagliavini” (2005) and a winner of the “Concorso Internazionale Di Musica Gian Battista Viotti” (2004). Ms. Lewis also won the Opera Prize and the Audience Award in the renowned singing competition “Concorso Internationale di Canto Debutto A Merano“ (2004). Ms. Lewis participated in the Knoxville Opera Young Artist’s Studio. She received her Master’s Degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville School of Music, and her Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Central Arkansas.
Ms. Lewis currently lives in Vienna, Austria, where she is a student of dramatic soprano Carol Byers.
