Juan Pons 
Juan Pons made his debut in 1980 at the Teatro alla Scala in Falstaff directed by Giorgio Strehler and conducted by Lorin Maazel, revealing himself to be one of the most important baritones on the international scene. Since then he has been singing in the most important theatres all over the world, from Teatro alla Scala in Milan to the Metropolitan in New York, from the Staatsoper in Vienna to Covent Garden in London, from the Opéra in Paris to the Opera House in Zurich, from the Liceu Theatre in Barcelona to the Arena di Verona.

His repertoire includes, as well as Falstaff, interpreted again in La Scala in 1993 conducted by Riccardo Muti for the occasion of the centenary of the first performance, Il Trovatore, Ernani, Un Ballo in maschera, Rigoletto, La Forza del destino, Aida, La Traviata, Simon Boccanegra, Macbeth, Pagliacci, Tosca, Gianni Schicchi, Il Tabarro, La Fanciulla del West, Cavalleria Rusticana, Andrea Chénier, Madama Butterfly.

He has worked with important orchestra conductors such as Lorin Maazel, James Levine, Giuseppe Sinopoli, Riccardo Muti, Zubin Mehta and with directors such as Giorgio Strehler and Franco Zeffirelli.

As well as the operas from the great repertoire, Juan Pons has also performed in productions of less famous titles such as Aroldo by Verdi, Herodiade by Massenet, Gemma by Vergy, Roberto Devereux by Donizetti and La Fiamma by Respighi.

He has performed many times in the inauguration productions of seasons for the Metropolitan of New York, and recently he performed in Rigoletto in Zurich and Paris, Tosca in Barcelona, Pagliacci in Japan, Aida and Madama Butterfly in the Arena di Verona.

In the 1997/1998 season he performed in Sly by Wolf-Ferrari alongside José Carreras and in Cena delle beffe by Giordano both performed at the Opera House in Zurich. In the subsequent seasons he interpreted Gianni Schicchi, Andrea Chénier, Nabucco at the Opera House in Zurich, Aida at the Liceu Theatre in Barcelona, Otello, Il Tabarro, La Traviata, Falstaff, Madama Butterfly, at the Metropolitan in New York. In 2002 he performed in Tosca and Falstaff in Toulouse, Sly and Rigoletto at the Metropolitan in New York, Madama Butterfly in Tokyo conducted by Myung-Whun Chung, Simon Boccanegra at the Opéra Bastille in Paris. In 2003 he performed in many productions including Gioconda and in Don Carlos at the Opera House in Zurich.

In 2001 he returned to the Metropolitan Opera in New York, the Liceu Theatre in Barcelona, the Zurich Opera and the Vienna Opera.
