Vincenzo La Scola 
TENOR 
Vincenzo La Scola was born in Palermo and began studying voice with Arrigo Pola. He then specialized with Carlo Bergonzi after having won the ‘Zilani’ prize at the Verdi voice Competition in Busseto. He made his debut in 1983 in Parma in Don Pasquale by Donizetti.

In 1985 he performed in Brussels in L’Elisir d’amore conducted by John Pritchard. He went on tour with the Teatro alla Scala to Japan, Russia and Seville for the occasion of the 1992 Expo. In 1991 he sang in the Messa da Requiem by Verdi at the Festival dei due Mondi in Spoleto conducted by Daniele Gatti. In the USA he performed in San Francisco in I Capuleti e I Montecchi, in Houston in Contes d’Hoffmann and in Los Angeles in Messa da Requiem, conducted by Zubin Mehta. In 1993 he made his debut in the Metropolitan in New York in Rigoletto. He also performed in Tel Aviv with the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Zubin Mehta and in Zurich conducted by Georges Prêtre.
Among his most important performances we can include the Requiem by Verdi while on tour in Frankfurt and La Traviata at Covent Garden London.

In 1998 he was at the Arena di Verona for Tosca.
In the 2006 summer opera festival at the Arena he will perform the part of Turiddu in Cavalleria rusticana and the role of Don Josè in Carmen.
