Peter Mikulas 
BASS 
Peter Mikulas was born in Bratislava and studied at the Conservatory in his city. He was awarded with a diploma in 1978 and subsequently he became a member of the National Opera of Slovakia in Bratislava. In 1982 and 1984 he won the "Tchaikovsky" Competition in Moscow and the "Mirjam Helin" Competition in Helsinki.

His vast repertoire includes roles like Kecal (La sposa venduta by Smetana), Prince Gremin (Evgenij Onegin by Tchaikovsky), Raimondo (Lucia di Lammermoor by Donizetti), Fiesco (Simon Boccanegra by Verdi), Golaud (Pelléas et Mélisande by Debussy), Sarastro (Die Zauberflöte by Mozart), Mephisto (Faust by Gounod).

He has performed at the Deutsche Staatsoper and the Unter den Linden in Berlin and at the Opera House in Amsterdam and he has participated in a number of music Festivals in Austria, Belgium, France, Italy, Portugal and Japan. In April 2001 he made his debut at the Metropolitan Opera House in New York.

He has collaborated with the most important orchestras among which the Philharmonie of Vienna, the Paris Orchestra, the Gewandhaus of Leipsiz and the Checzk Philharmonic Orchestra, and has been conducted by famous maestros among which: Sir George Solti, Carlo Maria Giulini, Sir Simon Rattle, Sir Charles Mackerras, Charles Dutoit and Georges Prêtre.
