He was born in San Prisco (Caserta), he studied singing in Naples with the Maestro Campanini. Successively, he graduated at Conservatory in Potenza. He made his debut in 1970 at the Theatre San Carlo in Napoli with the opera Rigoletto. He established oneself as refined interpreter of “bel canto” interpreting many roles in a vast repertoire that includes operas such as “La Traviata”, “Trovatore”, “Don Carlo”, “La Forza del Destino”, “Rigoletto”, “Otello”, “Ernani”, “Aida”, “Nabucco”, “Macbeth”, “Tosca”, “La fanciulla del West”, “I Puritani”, “Pagliacci”, “Norma”, “Adriana Lecouvreur”, “Turandot”, “Madame Butterfly”, “Lucia di Lammermoor”, “The Knight of the Rose” and “Andrea Chenier”.
He has worked with famous conductors like Giuseppe Patanè Orchestra, Nello Santi, Anton Guadagno, Alberto Zedda, Gustav Khun, Gianandrea Gavazzeni, Daniel Oren, Zoltan Pesko, Rischard Bonyngem, Bruno Bartoletti, Peter Maag, Francesco Molinari Pradelli, Fernando Previtali and De Oliveiro Fabritiis.
He performed in the major Italian theatres like Arena di Verona, Teatro Verdi in Trieste, Comunale in Bologna, Rome Opera, Regio in Turin, San Carlo in Naples, Bellini in Catania, Massimo in Palermo, La Fenice in Venice, Sferisterio Arena di Macerata, Petruzzelli in Bari, Carlo Fenice in Genoa, Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago and Toscanini Foundation in Parma.
Many have been his tournée in Germany (Wiesbaden, Frankfurt, Dortmund and Berlin), France (Marseille), Japan (Tokyo and Osaka), Israel (Tel Aviv and Caesarea), Austria (Vienna) and Switzerland (Zurich).
He has performed with world famous singers like Mario del Monaco, Giuseppe di Stefano , Tito Gobbi, Luciano Pavarotti, Placido Domingo, Jose Carreras, Magda Olivero, Piero Cappuccilli, Gianni Raimondi, Renato Bruson, Ghena Dimitrova, Montserrat Cabballe.
