La Traviata
From "La dame aux camélias" to "La Taviata" - the risky undertaking of Giuseppe Verdi

On December 24th 1871 made its debut at Cairo the great opera on the banks of the Nile, composed by Giuseppe Verdi
Il Barbiere di Siviglia
"Almaviva" that is "The Useless Precaution" with an original libretto seted to music by the up-and-coming young composer
Nabucco
On March 9th 1842 the Milanese public attended the première of the opera and was completely captivated. Nabucco allowed Verdi to become one of the most admired and loved musicians of his era
La Bohéme
A gentle love story, and heart-rending ending which never fail to reduce the audience to tears
Roméo et Juliette
After the first performance in 1867 at Theatre Lyrique in Paris, many changes has been done for the renewd stage design in 1873 at Opéra-Comique
Madama Butterfly
The much awaited première was staged on February 17th, 1904 at the Teatro alla Scala in Milan. It was a total flop, defined by Puccini himself as "a real lynching".
Carmen
On March 3rd 1875, Carmen was staged at the Opéra-Comique in Paris: an opera which broke the tradition of this genre and which had to be presented to an audience which was very much unprepared
Il Trovatore
Il Trovatore is one of the three great operas with which Giuseppe Verdi reached his full artistic maturity and was recognized as the greatest Italian composer of the 1800s.
Tosca
The most controversial and yet the most loved of Puccini's operas made its debut on January 14th 1900 at the Teatro Costanzi in Rome
Turandot
Turandot, Puccini's last great Opera staged for the first time at "La Scala" in Milan on April 25th 1926, was conducted by Arturo Toscanini
Rigoletto
On March 11th 1851 took place the Premiere of the first of what is known as Verdi's "popular trilogy", followed by La Traviata and Il Trovatore
