Nadia Krasteva 
MEZZOSOPRAN 
Born in Sofia, Bulgaria, Nadia Krasteva studied at the National Music Academy of her home town and in Rome.
Since 2002 she has been lead singer at the Staatsoper in Vienna, where she performed many roles, such as the Verdian Fenena in Nabucco, Emilia in Otello, Ulrica in Un Ballo in maschera, Meg Page in Falstaff; then Leonor de Guzman in La Favorita by Donizetti, the main character in Carmen by Bizet, Adalgisa in Norma by Bellini, Maria Gesualdo in Gesualdo by Schnittke and Giulietta in Les contes d’Hoffmann by Offenbach.
At the Deutsche Oper in Berlin she performed Carmen, Un Ballo in maschera and Preziosilla in La Forza del destino, in Essen and in St. Gallen she was Adalgisa and Preziosilla and in Zurich she played the role of Marina in Boris Godunov by Musorgskij.

Recently she has interpreted the role of Carmen, at the Open-Air Festival in San Margareten, at Riga Opera Festival and at Savonlinna Opera Festival in Finland, and she has sung for the first time the Requiem by Verdi, conducted by Giorgio Morandi at the Summer Festival in Riga and next to Bryn Terfel at the Faenol Festival in Wales.
She has performed with many important singers such as Neil Shikoff, Edita Gruberova, Agnes Baltsa and Placido Domingo, and with great conductors, such as Seiji Ozawa, Marco Viotti, Fabio Luisi, Stefan Soltezs and Daniele Gatti.

She will make her debut at the Arena di Verona by performing Carmen by Bizet for the 90th Opera Festival 2012.
