Margriet Buchberger 
SOPRAN 
Margriet Buchberger studied at the Giuseppe Verdi Conservatory in Milan and completed her studies at the Würzburg Academy of Music. This was followed by repertoire study with Cheryl Studer, Krisztina Laki and Edita Gruberova. She received a scholarship from Mirella Freni at the Cubec Foundation for the support of young singers. In 2009, she was awarded the prize of the Bruno Frey Foundation for outstanding artistic achievements, and in 2010 she won a scholarship from the Richard Wagner Foundation.
Margriet Buchberger is much sought-after throughout Europe as a performer of the baroque and classical repertoire.
Exceptionally well-versed in the sacred music of the Baroque and Classical eras, she has often performed such works as Bach's St. Matthew and St. John Passions, his B-minor Mass, his Christmas Oratorio and numerous cantatas; Handel's Messiah, Judas Maccabaeus und Jephtha; Haydn's Creation and Seasons; Mozart's Requiem, Coronation and C-minor Masses and Exsultate Jubilate, among many others.
She has sung at the Deutsches Mozartfest Chemnitz, the Salzburger Mozartwoche 2010, several times at the Settimana Mozartiana in Rovereto, the Association Mozart Italia, the International Opera Festival Schloss Kirchstetten, Tage Alter Musik Regensburg and the international festival Settimana di Musica Sacra di Monreale (Palermo), among many others. She also performed the cantatas Salve Regina and Laudate Pueri Dominum of G.F. Händel at Turku Cathedral (European Capital of Culture) and Temppeliaukio Church, Helsinki with the "Musicians of the King's Road".
