Born in Brescia, he studied voice at the «Luca Marenzio» conservatory with Franco Ghitti.
He soon began one of the most requested performer for the title of Rigoletto, that he has debuted at the Teatro Massimo Palermo and then starred in the most important European theatres.
He appeared at the Teatro alla Scala Milan in I Due Foscari (Francesco Foscari), Macbeth (title role) and in Cavalleria Rusticana (Alfio).
He has successfully debuted as Sharpless in Madama Butterfly at the Arena di Verona.
Other operatic roles to date include Renato in Un Ballo in Maschera at the Montpellier Opera, Teatro Regio Turin, Teatro Verdi Trieste, Graz Opernhaus and Deutsche Oper Berlin; Scarpia in Tosca at the Teatro Carlo Felice Genoa, Teatro Bellini Catania, Seoul Art Center and Deutsche Oper Berlin; Ezio in Attila at the Rome Opera; Don Carlo in Ernani at the Teatro Comunale Bologna and St Gallen Staddtheater; Michele in Il Tabarro and Francesco in I Masnadieri at Teatro Massimo Palermo; Jago in Otello at the Teatro Verdi Sassari and Deutsche Oper Berlin; Amonasro in Aida at the Washington Opera and at the Caracalla Festival in Rome.
He has scored notable personal success as Tonio in I Pagliacci at the Teatro Ponchielli Cremona, Teatro Sociale Como, Teatro Grande Brescia, Teatro Pergolesi Jesi and at the Teatro Fraschini Pavia.
Recent successes include Nabucco at the Teatro Lirico Cagliari and at the Nuovo Teatro Comunale Sassari.
Among his future engagements the debut as Falstaff at the Nuovo Teatro Comunale Sassari, Teatro Pergolesi Jesi and Teatro dell’Aquila in Fermo.
